The aroma picked up brilliant grapefruit and pine upfront with grapefruit meat and pale malts supporting.. sweet, spicy, and quite nice. The flavor had bready and toffee sweetness at the core with bright pine and citrusy hoppage surrounding.. piney bitter finish.. solid! Heavier-bodied and syrupy at times on the palate.. lots of lingering bitterness on the finish (pine and grapefruit).. moderately carbonated. Great brew! mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Pours a fairly crystal clear dark gold color, with a medium white head. Smells of pretty intense hops, some grapfruit citrus, and a little weed as well. Nice and crisp. The flavor was of pretty intense hops, juicy grapefruit citrus, and a nice hop bitterness lingering inthe finish and aftertaste. Very crisp and clean on the palate. Not overdone, but a stronger regular IPA. Just really solid, not surprising coming from these guys. stefanje (944), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2008 On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a small white head. The aroma is strong with citrus, pine and fresh green hops. The flavor is similar to the nose, this is a biter hops forward brew with pine and chlorophyll filling in the sides. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The Finish is long and biter with lingering grassy hops. Overall: A very tasty IPA. Recommended. leninthedesert (112), Nevada, USA

Completely clear light orange color and a medium strong head and a sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine hops and very bitter grapefruit. Taste is much more relaxed with light sweet hops and faint grapefruit skins. Absolutely no bitterness in the flavor, nice stuff. notalush (2669), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Growler shared by JoeMcPhee - clear gold/orange beer, with a soapy, lasting head - huge west coast hop aroma, with loads of citrus and mango - lots of earthy, woody hop flavor - nice and dry, with just enough of a malt base to keep it from being too much so - a tiny bit of tropical fruit sweetness underneath - very grassy and peppery throughout - a nice IPA.
