On tap @ Bottleworks. Boozy mother of a quad. Really tasty, but it isn’t hiding much. Pours a dark brown with a big, dense head. Dark fruits, a bit of cranberry even, with brown sugar on the nose. Flavor has a good amount of booze, with a cola / fruity cover. Some spices, too, and as the aftertaste lingers, you get a nice oaky note showing through. Nice and tasty.

Not as good as Russian River’s many great beers. Grape notes rise most significantly for me but some of the diversity of flavors fades beneath the alcohol. Growler shared at RBSG 2009 grand tasting.

From growler at RBSG. Pours clear and deep golden orange with small white head. Light spiced and phenolic flavoured. Sweet malty and phenolic finish with a solid spiced note. Dry phenolic and spiced finish.

(Growler) Pours a hazy mahogany body with a moderate beige head. Aroma of sulfur, dates, mustiness, molasses, and slightly charred dark candi sugar. Flavor of dates, candi sugar, caramel, light fennel, and yeast with a dry, bitter finish.

A very fresh hand-bottle thanks to footbalm, as always you are the man Eric! Pours a very dark brown/mahogany color with a medium white head. The aroma is somewhat sour; lots of funk, raisins and dark fruits, tangy Belgian yeast and malts. The flavor is very nice; smooth and somehow easygoing yet strong and flavorful, sweet malts, brown sugar, funky Brett, slightly sour and sweet. Very nice.

On tap @ RR. Pours a dark ruby. Nose is booze!, malts, spices, some candy sugar and loads of dark fruits. Flavor is alcohol, some malt sweetness, ripe fruits, some fig, candy sugar and some sherry notes. Medium mouthfeel and finished with a alcohol sharpness.

Tap at RR. Clear rich brown color, very little carbonation. Aroma is big malts, brown sugar, dark fruits. Flavor is the same, along with big alcohol, and spices. Sweet finish, this is a really big beer.

On tap @ Toronado. Pours a dark ruby red with a tiny white head. Big nose, very fruity, yeasty notes. Awesome sweet start, with a tasty bready bite. Top notch.
