garthicus (559), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 13, 2008 Thanks to HogTownHarry, with thanks by proxy to Irishboy. Shared with Harry, Jeff and Paul. Batch 004. Appearance: Golden colour, nice white head, some floaties in there too! Aroma: Nettles and grass, some hops and some grapefruit. Like the aroma of an anxious sheep. Flavour: Bitter and zingy, some lemon and sherbet. Finish is short and tangy. Not bad at all!
f351c4v (231), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2008 On tap @ RR. Pours a clear, golden color with minimal head. Yeasty aroma with a hint of lemon. Light bodied, a bit fruity with a yeasty presence. Not very exciting. AgentSteve (852), SF Bay Area, California, USA Oct 9, 2008 Pours pale golden with a foamy off white head. The nose is a bit too subtle, but nice influences of herbs and honey. Sam ein the flavor with a delicate mouthfeel. FlssmrBrewAlum (245), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2008 Sampler at the RR Brewpub (Santa Rosa, CA). Light straw body with minimal head. This beer lacked a real aroma, subtle fruity pear sweetness pervades with bready notes underneath. Mellow, refreshing, subtle. Nice flow, smooth. Nice hoppy finishing bite. Sweetness of the malt is light, but doable. tjthresh (1321), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Oct 6, 2008 750 from Taverner. Pours golden with a nice amber-ish tint. Wonderful thick white head. Really nice woodsy herbal floral hop aroma with a bit of a sugary malt character. Pretty hoppy flavor as well. Kind of a muted mintiness. Pleasing malt character with a eye opening bitter finish. Medium, mouth filling body with lively carbonation. and a balanced finish. I could drink this beer everyday. oreogobbler (173), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 4, 2008 Aroma: sweaty (gym) stink aroma, musk, spice, but still pleasant. (if that makes any sense)
Like most russian river beers: pours completely transparent dark orange with a white soapy head.
Flavor: Musky grass flavor, with some nut blend and acidic finish.
Palate is a bit sharp but balanced and enjoyable.
