Commercial Description:
This Belgian style Strong Dark Ale has a tawny brown color and aromas of banana and spice that dominate the initial bouquet of the beer. Lean malt flavors blend perfectly with fruit driven characteristics created by the classic Belgian yeast which fermented this ale. The alcohol content is deceptively smooth just like its sister beer Damnation. Brewed just once a year for a release in January.

Time to catch up before BCTC. Bottle at CL Rosso release. Thanks to all the RB’ers and BA’s that brought great beer. Toasted cereal grainy sugary sweet yeasty. Not a favorite style but nice.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/30/09. Pours dark brown, nice roated nut, banana and yeast aroma. Very well balanced sweetness with hints of currant and clove. Incredibly smooth and drinkable mouthfeel. Thinking about it now, I probably should’ve given it higher numbers, but I’m sticking with my notes.

750 mL bottle courtesy of Immy at Immy’s Backyard Throwdown (Batch 4, bottled June 10, 2005). Dark brown with an off-white head. Slightly sour aroma. Sweet taste; notes of toffee, caramel, and sugar. Slightly sour on the back end. A very good Belgian Strong as I would expect from this brewer.

@ Immy Backyard Throwdown. Batch 4. Poured a light brown color. Had a caramel aroma. Taste was a very strong coffee bean.
