Theis (3617), Denmark Nov 20, 2008 Bottle at Falling Rock Taphouse, Denver. Cloduy reddish - white head. Dryness, high sourness, berries, cherry, wood, wheaty, brett, oak, wine notes. Fantastic. westexans (10), Converse, Texas, USA Oct 28, 2008 Does not look like a brown ale pours similar to an amber. Sour cherry and barley wine aroma. Instant sour on the tongue aftertaste like a dry wine. Decent beer, not my favorite. Reminds me overall of a Grand Cru. Juelze (889), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Oct 24, 2008 Pours an amber color with medium off-white head that sticks the glass in gobs as it’s consumed. Aroma is sour with notes of oak, tart cherry and barnyard. Taste is tart cherry, oak, sour yeast and barn yard. Intensely sour and incredibly well made. Thanks for my bro for sharing this! Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Oct 24, 2008 Thanks to TheCheeseMan for this!
Batch 003, poured in a Lambic Flute
Pours a gold-amber color with a large pillowy white head that leaves large amount of white sticky lacing. Aroma is beautiful - acidic, sour, oak, and bits of cherry. Taste is sour and slightly cherry tart, which is balanced by the oak.
joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 21, 2008 Bottle at Falling Rock.
Hazy amber coloured with a small white head.
Fruity and light acidic aroma of wood, cherries, brett and wine.
Fruity and light acidic flavour of wood, vanilla and red wine.
Tart finish. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 19, 2008 Batch 3 - Acquired in a trade from lb4lb. Many thanks! Slow pour so as not to rouse the sediment results in a thinnish head that all but dissipates somewhat quickly. Ruddy reddish color with smal tight carbonation. Aroma is sour, with Brett characters dominating, with undertones of vanilla oak notes. Mouthfeel is sharp and lively. Sour hits upfront, but finishes with an almost sweetness from what may me the oak. Cherry not really a dominant note, but merely helps accentuate the tartness of the bacterias and the tart fruit from th oak. A very fine brew. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Oct 18, 2008 Pours brown-amber almost like you can see the cherries in the glass. Aroma is tart, wood, brett, sour cherries. Flavor is champagne like with wood and cherry coming through in the finish. I like this brew but I have to say that Temptation is my favorite of the RR sours. Good though. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2008 Bottle: Very tart aroma with notes of fruits, Brett, cherries, oak, and acid. Poured amber/orange in color with a small, off-white head. Very sparkling. Hazy. Flavor is very tart. Tastes of tart fruit, cherries, Brett, and a little oak. Medium body. Chalky texture. Lively carbonation. Tart, dry finish.
