Aroma was sweet candy, light berry notes, plenty of the funk and some wood. Taste more of the funk, tart, sweet cherries, some oak, and a little spice. Very nice. brewolf (39), Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Sour cherries and dark red tannins dominate the nose. Burnt sienna pour with ample head. Funky, iron-like tartness comes out for a romp around your tastebuds. Darker and heavier for a sour, and the attempted contrast is pulled off beautifully. The solid body combined with the wine-like elegance of the finish is something to be applauded. Woody notes abound, but do not overpower. Quite a treat. jerk (13), North Carolina, USA

Aroma of cherries, brett funk and vinous notes. Flavor was very sour/funky, sour cherries, wet oak and vinegar. The finish is very tart and dry, nice carbonation. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Bottle Batch 3 from miketd. Pours murky brown, dissipating head. Nose is big and soft, lots of vinous type notes. Cherries are still vibrant in this one. Funky and sour nose. On taste, this is how to do a cherry sour. Softened acidity. The oak comes across to prop up the cherry notes. This is really a more refined version of the Cascade Sang Royal. More nuanced and pretty deep. Exceptional. dchmela (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Bottle from MRuesch. Thanks Matt! Hazy brown pour with a thick tan head. Bretty, vinegar, sour cherry, tart aroma. Tangy tart cherry taste with some vinegar tartness. Not much of a sour fan, but I thought this exceptionally well done. Gypsy19 (618), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Batch 3. Poured a slightly cloudy orange, with just a little foam on top. Aroma is as expected: RR Sour-ness and a little light fruit. Flavor as expected again, but gladly with a little more complexity due to its medium amount of alcohol. In other words, it’s very similar to Beatification, but has a little more flavor simply because it’s slightly heavier. Palate medium, par. Overall, good. Top 50 material? No. shawnm213 (915), South Bend, Indiana, USA

Poured a murky amber.
Nose was of candi sugar and vinegar.
Taste was sour, plenty of vinegar to the point where it burns a little, and finishes with an odd residual sweetness.
