BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 1, 2008 Reddish copper pour with a nice dense off-white head that receded into an 1/8 inch foam but left its mark with thick bands of lacing. Nose is sour cherry skins, pear, funk, and yeast. Flavor is quite interesting...beginning sweet but rapidly transitioning to aggressive tart. Cherry, oak, raisin, lemonade, and grapefruit. Much lower carbonation that Temptation. Actually enjoyed this beer a bit more. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 28, 2008 Opened side by side with temptation. Nose is cherries, bread, farmhouse funk. Orange amber haze, light head that dissipates quickly. Sweet as it meets your tounge. Tart blast. Palate is very interesting, starts fruity and finishes so extremely sour. Light carbonation. Cherry, sour, funk, fruit, bread. Slouldnt out rate temptation, not balanced. Bottle should be shared. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 its a sour blast the cherries lend a lot to the aroma and color but fall a bit short in the flavor. they are out shined by the wonderful brett lacto and pedicoccus which i would like to know more about. medium amounts of pinpoint carbonation. this beer make you feel like a kid again. pinot is a good addition and the beer either picked up a lot or this beer was well suited for pinot. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jun 26, 2008 OMG!!! This beer was outstanding! Thanks to BDR for sharing. Copper pour with small whitish head. Aroma gives a hint of the pinot with a definite cherry presence as well as other pitted fruits. Tart taste with the pinot more present but the cherry asserting itself. Wow! SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2008 This poured an orangish copper in color with tinges of red and brown. It had a fluffy head of beige bubbles with faded to leave some island lacing from the constant bubbles. The nose showed off the sour cherries along with other red fruits, "brown" wood and an herbal funkiness. In the mouth this is extremely sour and acidic with the tart cherries being the domminate flavor and a tannic grip on the finish. While acidic, the midpalate does come off as balanced with a nice combination of carbonation and supple edges. masonjer (555), Holt, Michigan, USA Jun 25, 2008 Updated: Jun 26, 2008Finally got a crack at this one. Poured a reddish brown. Just a little bit of head. Smell was sour, tiny bit of cherry and some oak. Taste is really nicely balanced, cherries, sour yet drinkable, oak. There was a perfect transition from start to finish in the mouth, nothing awkward, complex and elegant. Really, really enjoyable.
Oh, and be careful where you are shooting the cork. I shot it off the back deck and barely had the cage off before it rocketed about 15 feet high and 20 feet far into the yard. "you could shoot an eye out" ucusty (1865), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 21, 2008 Batch 2. Pour is gold with some slight reddish hues. Foamy off-white head and nice lace. Very tart aroma. Big full bodied beer with loads of tart. Cherry on the finish timfoolery (482), California, USA Jun 17, 2008 Updated: Jul 8, 2008Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. I’d have to say this is one of the most unique beers I’d tasted to this point. It had the tangy properties of wine/cider, but the fullness in flavor of beer. With nothing to compare it to, I’m overly satisfied with the experience! Thanks to DTM for hooking it up!
