DTM (541), Winters, California, USA Jun 17, 2008 Bottle from Monument Liquors in Concord, CA. Poured a hazy yellow color with a pretty good sized head. WOW!! I could smell the sour right from the bottle. Tasted sour with a hint of fruit flavors. Looking forward to trying some of the other Russian River brews. Ramenen (453), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 14, 2008 Bottle. Drank it for my 35th b-day. Pours like champagne, very sparkly. Light bodied, nice cherry character that sweetens up the tartness of the ale. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador Jun 13, 2008 thanks to ramenen. bottle; lcherry flavored sweet tart. like drinking foam! interesting brew, champagne style brewing. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 9, 2008 Pours a murky orange. My girlfriend didn’t like this one as much (yeah for me!). Aroma isn’t incredibly sour or overpowering. Awesome sour cherry flavor, wish I could get more of their beers. bierkoning (5987), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 9, 2008 Bottle from Solan, thanks! Orange pinkish color. Cherries, marzipan, leather, oak and grapefruit in the aroma. Sour flavor with oak, hint of cherries and leather. Dry out effect in the aftertaste with leather, caramel, plastic and grapefruit. Astonishing complex, great beer. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Jun 5, 2008 375ml bottle batch 003. Pours an awesome murky burnt orange with minimal head and some light lacing left on the Trappist. Insane aromas of sour cherries, red wine and more sour cherries. Flavor was bitter and sour with a hint of sweetness on the back of the throat. One of the best sours I’ve had to date. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Jun 4, 2008 It’s been a long time awaiting. Absolutely the best sour red I’ve ever had. I’m savoring every drop. Californians have it lucky if they can get this when it’s on the shelf, or even on tap. A wonderful cherry sour taste. Lovely. Pretty close to perfect. bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 1, 2008 Bottle, Batch 002: Courtesy of cmr1517...big thanks Chris. A bit of a gusher yielded a murky amber-brown with a medium tan head. Wow...this could be the most intense sour brew I’ve had thus far, massive sour cherry aroma with some oak, spiced malts, and granny smith apple notes showing themselves. First taste just annihilated my palate with its brett-infused goodness. Sour as hell with the cherries in the forefront, oak and some underlying malt notes come through as well...dry, lingering finish.
