I know this review wont be glowing, but I am just not into THIS sour of a brew. I ahve had a few sour ones, but this takes the cake. Taste way too much like wine. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2007 375ml bottle from MrBendo. Batch 2. Aroma: Lots of sour cherries and oak. Brett, light spiciness, and a bit of alcohol. Appearance: Reddish gold in color and slightly hazed. Light bone head was small and creamy with good retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Lots of sour cherries upfront which melds smoothly into the oakiness. Brett gives a light funk in the mid-taste. Tartness gives a good pucker, but isn’t to much. Finishes quite dry. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Another solid offering from RR. Well crafted and delicious. biggcb (464), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2007 Batch 2 bottle (thanks WeeHeavySD). A bit of a gusher. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a decent-sized beige head. Aroma is sour cherries and a little of the brett. After smelling it for what seemed to be several minutes, I gently lifted the glass to my lips - Wow! There is much going on! The sour cherries kind of make the lips pucker a bit, the brett adds a very interesting dimension....the oak, the pinot noir - it all blends up into a wondrous delight. Tart, dry and refreshing. I need a few more bottles of this!! toncatcher (228), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA

Aroma of oak, sour cherries, and yeast. The flavor is tart sour cherries, wood, lively carbonation, and wine. Good body, not a fan of the style, but this was really good. A cloudy brown body with foamy off-white head. Sweet sour cherries on the aroma with some brett funk. An over the top sour flavor greets my tongue then smoothly runs into a cherry midbody and then a tart finish. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Hazy reddish-brown pour with a light tan head. Awesome aroma of sour and oak...sour cherries and light caramel malt. The flavor held more sourness, bret, tart cherry, some tannins. Sour throughout the medium body with a nice lively carbonation with a sour/woody/dry finish. Sours, especially RR brews continue to allure me, and this one was especially good. MY favorite sour ale, hands down.
