biggcb (458), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA May 2, 2007 Batch 2 bottle (thanks WeeHeavySD). A bit of a gusher. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a decent-sized beige head. Aroma is sour cherries and a little of the brett. After smelling it for what seemed to be several minutes, I gently lifted the glass to my lips - Wow! There is much going on! The sour cherries kind of make the lips pucker a bit, the brett adds a very interesting dimension....the oak, the pinot noir - it all blends up into a wondrous delight. Tart, dry and refreshing. I need a few more bottles of this!! toncatcher (228), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA May 1, 2007 Updated: Oct 21, 2008Sour Ale’s are now my favorite, I enjoyed the side by side with Temptation. Nice pour, howevere a little cloudy. Strong sour cherry with oak and with some tart fruit. bgburdman9 (822), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 30, 2007 Wow I was so glad to find some of this on the table. Aroma of cherries, sourness, and a real rich malty sweetness . Real balanced between malty and sourness. Probably one of my favorites flemish sours out there. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours red/amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of oak, sour cherries, and yeast. The flavor is tart sour cherries, wood, lively carbonation, and wine. Good body, not a fan of the style, but this was really good. A cloudy brown body with foamy off-white head. Sweet sour cherries on the aroma with some brett funk. An over the top sour flavor greets my tongue then smoothly runs into a cherry midbody and then a tart finish. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 23, 2007 Updated: Mar 18, 2009Received as a one hell of a bounus from dirtymartini, thanks again man! Hazy reddish-brown pour with a light tan head. Awesome aroma of sour and oak...sour cherries and light caramel malt. The flavor held more sourness, bret, tart cherry, some tannins. Sour throughout the medium body with a nice lively carbonation with a sour/woody/dry finish. Sours, especially RR brews continue to allure me, and this one was especially good. MY favorite sour ale, hands down. grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Apr 22, 2007 Pours reddish amber with an off-white head. Aroma of cherries and the yeasties. Wow, very sour, but it works very well. Very nice. ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Apr 22, 2007 Bottle courtesy of irishboy. Pours a rusty amber color with a smallish beige colored head. Aroma is brett, cherries, oak. FLavor is sour cherries, oak, yeast, grassy, pale malts, vineous. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, starts on the sweet side, finished tart. Amazing mouthfeel, soft and silky, fireworks on the tounge, amazing stuff. There is a complexity that eludes words. Great stuff!!!! Wonderful sipping beer.
