| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Bottle batch 002 thanks to ross. A bit of a gusher. Pours reddish brown with a thick foamy off-white head. Smells of damp oak, tart cherries, grassy brett funk, some candi sugar and a bit of port. Flavor is strong sour cherry with a delicate creamy sweetness balancing it. There is a strong oak note and grassy funk from the brett, a bit vinous too. Medium body with a very lively carbonation. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2007 From a 375 ml bottle shared at JK’s Spring Gathering, pours a cloudy orange amber with a thin white head. Aroma is quite different with hints of sour cherries, toffee, vanilla and banana bread. Taste has the sour cherries, butterscotch, and aged oak wood. Palate is medium carbonation and a dry finish. Remind me more of a Lambic style brew than a Flemish Ale. A nice complex brew. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 4, 2007 Updated: Jul 10, 2008This has become one of my sour ale standbys. Stunningly complex, deep, and tart while almost being addicting. I wish that it would be produced more often and was more available. One of the best beers I have ever had the luxury of trying. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Batch 002. This pours out a reddish brown with a nice fizzy head to it. Aroma is amazing of oak, tart cherries, and sour dark fruits. Taste is cherries predominatley but I still pick up on the oak with a hint of the wine as well. This beer is great and refreshing on a warm day such as this. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Bottle shared by nolankowal: Dark amber to brown in color with an off white head. Aroma, sour cherries, a nice oak character, there is some sweetness to it, a faint vanilla, and some hints of grapes. Flavor, light cherry, some other fruits, sour grape notes, a nice tartness, a soft sour acidity, a good bit of oak comes through, and a bit of sweetness as well. Very smooth beer, the sour is just perfect for my tastes. Great stuff.
