This pours an opaque honey color, musty, slightly sweet aroma, with a nice vinuous & somewhat sweet flavor. Finishes smooth & clean. great beer. alexanderj (2268), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Bottle at a beer tasting; didn’t realize this was that highly rated. Lucky get. Color was orange with a white head. Good aroma; some funk and cherry with a bit of woodiness. Flavor didn’t have as much cherry as I would have liked; good funky and yeasty notes. Starting to like these more, but have had some that I found better. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

7/30/2009: Russian River Supplication... Aroma: Awesome tart/pie cherries, slightly acidic and sour. Appearance: Murky honey color, minimal beige head. Flavor: Rich, deep cherry; caramelized maltiness and mild, well-blended sourness. Palate: Medium-bodied; moderately carbonated, smooth. Overall: Another damn fine brew! Great balance, wonderful tart cherry pie, slightly sour and acidic without being puckery; very enjoyable; excellent!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 10, 2005 Tap @ Toronado. This was the first beer of the ten Russian River brews at the tasting that ran out. It was also the first time it was ever poured. A cider and Rodenbach like flavor with a light cherry and vinous flavor. The brown ale adds some depth to the pinot wine like elements. Smooth and semi-sweet. Oooo...sow-wer aroma, wild and funky, citrus and spice at play in the great outdoors...oooo...aaahhh!
A most unusual taste. Full bodied, and utterly weird. Bold fruit, forward and beautifully blended. Cherries are on top, but don’t dominate, there’s a greater complexity, made more confounding by the tartness that abounds.
Gets mellower as we sip, and wider, too...more open, spacious, ...with incessant bursts of cherry-licious flavor...me, oh, my...
This beer requires a larger bottle, and a momentous occasion, to share with special someones...drinks down deliciously...
A most stupendous creation. Kinz (2207), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Bottle at Capital Ale House after a day of mediocrity at the Shockoe Beer Festival. Medium amber, slight head faded quick. Good sour aroma of cherry and bacteria funk. Flavor matched, with a bit of horse and wood - really did remind me a bit of Pinor Noir to my surprise. Nice. Pedicoccus sounds like athlete’s foot. Yummy!
