| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2005 Brilliant red-orange with some haziness. Good nose, caramelized sugar and vanilla, some banana and breadiness, plus sourness, very interesting. Flavor has a huge bit of ginger in the initial kick, then lots of sweetness and mild sourness. Really incredibly bready and cookie-ish, tastes like a big, chewy Christmas cake. Complex, restrained, and elegant. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 17, 2005 375-ml. bottle, batch 001, courtesy of CaptainCougar - thanks Tom! Beautiful, hazy and glowing rusty orange with a few bubbly ice sheets as the head. Continued pouring yields a perfect foamy tan head and some of the best lacing I’ve ever seen. Aroma is a predicator of complexity. Sour grapes, pinot grigio, freshly squeezed lemons, pale figs, cotton, lilies of the valley and freesia. Masochistically complex. An anticipated souring presence is shunned for a performance of modest, balanced and elegant simplicity. Oaken smoothness, mashed grapes, fig extract and cherry cobbler. It’s got its sourness but it maintains a healthy, welcoming plateau, never reaching an arguable forte of sourness. Mild sour nodes are sustained by sweet fruity esters of nectarines, apricots and orange rind. Light, delicately sour and omnipresent palate sense, neither forthright nor intimidated. Yeasty, bready quaff lead into a finish of golden raisins and chardonnay. The time and attention dedicated to this creation should be commended.
