The aroma definitely betrays the pinot noir barrels-- plenty of berry and oak notes, as well as a rich vinous character; there are also wafts of lactic sourness and a touch of earth. Taking a sip, the sour acidity is much more apparent. It cuts through a mild cherry flavor with some oaky notes and some distant hints of fleshy fruits. The finish is very dry, with some earthy notes and a berry aftertaste. Lively, sharp carbonation goes well with it, too. Great beer. sebletitje (1925), Tampa, Florida, USA
