pours an amber/orange color. nice finger of head. Aroma is very much like a lambic. Sour and funk, and barnyard with a tinge of cherry, and some flemish sour all combined in one. Flavour is sour, and tastes just like a good lambic, but its smooth, and the finish is big on the cherry. The finish is also very fresh, and the cherry lasts a long time. Wow, what an amazing beer! adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Pours a dark orange bronze color with a medium frosty beige head. Aroma of rotting wood, sour apples and cherries. Taste is sweet and sour with a strong tarty feel. Cherries, apples and a bit of oak are in the flavor. Not bad, but was expecting a bit more. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Batch 002. Deep amber. Thin layer of off white foam dissipates to a ring. Nose of oak, sour cherries, bretty funk, subtle vinegar, cotton candy, and a toasted malt background. Flavor adds some complex fruity esters- past ripe, floral, berry-like, and more of the same oaky, sour goodness from the aroma. Medium body, juicy yet highly carbonated, very dry finish. Excellent. fredandboboflo (1417), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 25, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of tart cherries, oak, yogurty funk, other fruits, maybe grapes or strawberries. Flavor really has an oak and winelike presence with soft tart and sour touches. Quite dry. World class. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2008 draft @ brewery - this brew hits you are hard and thick as lesh’s baseline in the namesake song; dark brown and murky with thin, tan head; thick, resinous aromas of wood, brett, funk, wine and cherries; though cherries are mild in the aromas; lacing as it goes down with lots of funky, thick sours in the flavors; cherries come out more here and also some oaky sweetness; not my fav sour, but very nice tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Sweeter malt vinegar. Wine tannin. Oak and sour yeast. Pours bright ruby/pink with a thin white head. Initially dry and quite tart on the palate. Definite vinous and oak notes. Some sour cherry as well. Well balanced. Really great stuff! Rich and creamy with lively carbonation. My first Russian River, and I look forward to more. Thanks Todd!
Batch 3 has dried out an incredible amount. Assloads of acetic acid throughout. A screamingly brash finish. Tons of funk, tons of barrel and all shades of deliciousness.
Batch 2. Wow, wow, wow. Absolutely heavenly aroma. The perfect amount of acetic acid, wine tannin and tart fruit skin. Rivals Castleton for aromatic complexity. Flavor in this batch is absolutely at it’s peak (maybe, just maybe starting to go downhill)? Still fantastic, though. Nearing zero fruit presence. The cherries have all been eaten up by the yeast. Wood tannin is still quite strong. The acid, though not as bracing as some other RR sours, is still quite present, especially on the finish. Hot damn... this beer sneaks up in my ratings ever time I drink it! Thanks for the most recent taste Jake! brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Ok I was going to save Veritas 006 for #1300, and then I had this at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest, and it seemed even more worthy, so here goes. Pours a brilliant reddish amber with slight haze and a half-inch of creamy off-white foam. Aroma is amazing with sour cherry, bretty and lactic notes, leather, oak, and some sweet malt. Flavor is tart, with brett, lacto, pedio, funk, and some sweet caramel malt, sour cherries, oak, and spice. Complex and just amazingly good flavor. Sour but not overly so like Beatification can be. Medium body with a sharp, acidic palate and a long finish. Went back for this two more times despite all the other great barrel aged beers there. Great beer, Vinnie! Worth the long wait.
