Pours a hazy blush with some head. Light caramel and brett aroma with sour cherry. Relatively sweet and bitter for the style with a strong caramel component. Noticable wine contribution. Some oak, figs and floral notes arrive as it opens up. Not as cleansing or refreshing as some but still a distinct California version.

GABF 2005. Hazy gold with a big, fluffy head. Very nice sour brett aroma, mixed with horseblanket, soft cheese. Lightly sour flavor, rather floral, with the finish being a tad more sour. Nice light carbonation. I love these sour, funky beers.

Pours cloudy brown/orange. Aroma is musty, with wood, and fruit. Flavor is sour cherries, oak, and a little vanilla. Nice body, and a relatively long, sourish finish. thanks to dirty martini for this one.

Lots of floaties, but it is a nice dark orange color...just about no head...Full aroma of spicy, sweet heavy fruits- apples, cherries and raisins. The flavor, though, is not nearly as sweet, and is actually quite tart and quite unusual. Very sour, yeasty...I’m not big on this kind of yeast, I guess.

Poured a dark orange color with an off white head. Aroma was sourness, sour cherries, a bit vineous. Flavor was amazing, very sour with a nice hint of cherries and oak, almost like a sour cherry wine.

June 2007 - Batch 01 - This beer might have the most beautiful red amber body I have ever seen, with a big and small bubbled some what lasting head; Maybe I expect to much from these BA sour RR’s, but I get slightly disappointed evey time I have one. The nose is great it has everything, it just gives it self up way to easy, it lacks the Belgium (sour Belgium’s) toughness, roughness, the "you wont get me that easy" attitude, they need more MALE attitude. You can feel the lactic sourness in the nose but it is hidden by the sweet cherry cinnamon perfumed to easy aromas that is also way to present in the NB Enigma; The body is good and a little more complex then the nose, a wooden barrel like tannin harshness is a little to present otherwise it is balanced with a very little sourness, a little bitterness and to much to big bubbled carbonation; It finishes a bit to short, aromas and feel grows big right when the beer is swallowed, but fades to fast, a very small lactic touch, again lots of barrel tannins, some barrel aroma but also tons of this sweet cinnamon cherry aroma that is much better fitting in a cake then in a beer. It is very strange that the cherry aromas in US beers are so very, very much different from the cherry aromas in Belgium beers, uhh there are some good Belgium sours!

3 litre bottle, batch 2. Drewbeerme (also known as stripey) shared at his wedding shower. Red-orange with nice white head. Aroma was heavy brett, apple, citrus. Flavor was green apple, tart, a little acidic. Med body. F’n awesome. I loved this beer and thought it was pretty fantastic there was basically a never ending supply of it.

Beer pours cloudy amber color with a mostly diminishing beige colored head. Aroma is of cherries with lots of wet wood. Flavor is sour with a really nice sweet cherry tartness. Palate is creamy with perfect carbonation. Delicous.
