Poured @ Logans During GABF- Pours a slighlty hazy dark orange color, white head floats flat on the brew. Aroma is musty, straw/wet hay, spicy. Flavor is tart, sour with a dry finish. Very nice.

Tap @ O’Briens TION night. Poured hazy, bright gold with a frothy white head. Musty, dank yeast funk combined with oaken wine barrel earthiness. Effervescent mouthfeel gives it a light feel. Mouth-puckering tartness right away. Lemony citric bite along with the bretty funk. A vinuous tanginess follows as does the oak and cherry flavors. Definitely a success in terms of aging in that it tones down the sometimes harsh vinegar and cheese flavors. They are present, but in far less degree so the quality of the beer itself comes through. The pricetag on a bottle of this can be prohibitive, which makes having this on tap a rare treat.

reddish orange body with small off-white head...a purely lambic aroma (sour, acrid, woody, and yeasty)...flavor is of lemon and berry frutis, sour notes, and wood...nice palate...there is quite a bite to this brew! THANKS SILPHIUM

Bottle, at BA Throwdown #2. Pours a reddish color, hazy body, clean white head and filmy lacing. Very funky cherry nose, some hard malt influence. Big tart funk in the flavor, cherries, some cranberries, nice sweet and dry hay feel. Very tasty, so drinkable for the style, held up very well.

Warm orangy amber with a denser small bubbled head. Sourish dry fruity salty yogurty nose. A bit tannic. Some strong cherry. Lighter carbonation, full body. dry tart yogurty fruity cherry. Some biting oaky tannins. A bit salty. Lingering small heat and fruity tannins. Really delightful joy to dirnk.

Pours a deep ruby red with a lastine off white head. Aroma of sour cherries, vanilla, grapes and slight malt vinegar. The body is med-dry for such a beer with a moderate amount of CO2, could be higher. The flavors are OMG this is sour! Some vanilla and grape skins. Some sour cherries and vanilla. Some OMG TART!. What a lovely and complex brew. God it is beautiful to see the art coming out of American breweries these days.

Draft, at Monk’s cafe RR dinner 1/23/07. I’ve had this a few times before, so i was excited to get a chance to try it again last night. Wow! Ruby colored, barely any head (sample was poured into my glass from a pitcher). Beautiful funky sour aroma, with cherries fairly evident. I could smell this beer all day. Tart cherrry flavor. Delicious beer; I’d love to have a few cases in my cellar. Matched beautifully with an apple glazed duck breast.

thanks Zeswaft. largely red with orange and brown undertones. brown mustard head that lasts. opaque from the yeast. pretty sour smelling, but it’s mostly from the yeast and is all just bret. i can’t tell how people get much more out of aroma than bret when bret is there. i get honey and definitely some cherries. actually dry smelling too. this is pretty great tasting too. maybe a little simple. maybe a little overcarbonated. this isn’t the best of its style by any means, but i still love it.
