i’m surprised. these crazy RR belgians are always gross and bretty so i thought i’d wasted another 13$. aroma confirmed my fears but the taste is a nice surprise. sour cherry’s and a little farm funk. a little sweet and dare i say refreshing. not too bad.

thanks Zeswaft. largely red with orange and brown undertones. brown mustard head that lasts. opaque from the yeast. pretty sour smelling, but it’s mostly from the yeast and is all just bret. i can’t tell how people get much more out of aroma than bret when bret is there. i get honey and definitely some cherries. actually dry smelling too. this is pretty great tasting too. maybe a little simple. maybe a little overcarbonated. this isn’t the best of its style by any means, but i still love it.

sweet and sour, heavy on the cherry flavors. The sour is very noticible, as is the very yeast flavors. Sweet

Bottle from Capones, thanks Stegosaurus. I don’t like flemish sours and this one doesn’t change my mind. Too bitter for my taste. It’s just not for me. I wont totally kill the ratings.

2009 Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Poured hazy reddish amber, granny smith apple, passion fruit, wood, little malty.

375mL bottle. Murky brown orange with a small offwhite creamy head. Phenol plastic tones, with sour and funk aromatics. Tart cherry tannins, heavy plastic notes, along with a dank mustiness that joins more tannic flavors in the finish. Sour flavors exlode on the palate but disappear quickly. Mouthfeel is medium, suprisingly full yet still quenching.

Batch 002. Sampled 7-6-07. Pours a clouded reddish amber. Nose is a beautiful antiseptic funk. Flavor is outstanding. Crisp woody cahracter with wild, barrel aged goodness. Outstanding. Feel is smooth on liquid. Great level of carbonation. for f**ks sake is this drinkable. Obviously a work of art.
