Aroma is as expected: RR Sour-ness and a little light fruit. Flavor as expected again, but gladly with a little more complexity due to its medium amount of alcohol. In other words, it’s very similar to Beatification, but has a little more flavor simply because it’s slightly heavier. Palate medium, par. Overall, good. Top 50 material? Pours reddish brown with a thick foamy off-white head. Smells of damp oak, tart cherries, grassy brett funk, some candi sugar and a bit of port. Flavor is strong sour cherry with a delicate creamy sweetness balancing it. There is a strong oak note and grassy funk from the brett, a bit vinous too. Medium body with a very lively carbonation. Taste is sour, cherries, strange. Perhaps it’s the lactobacillus that gives me the idea of yugurt really good, but strange :-) beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 10, 2005 Bottle. Pours a hazy orangey brown. Some light caramelized malt aromas, with something funky, maybe horsey and maybe a bit medicinal. Didn’t seem to get as much cherries as others. More of the same for flavors, but fairly acidic and tart, and a fairly dry finish. It has a nice pleasant light body given all that it offers. This grew on me the more I had. Pours a glowing gold with a small effervescent white head. Aroma is really funky, tart, dry, and not much for cherries. Flavor is oaky and a little funky, only has a hint of cherry, and a great lingering lactic tartness. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 13, 2008 thanks cmubeerman. batch 2 and 3 side by side. Batch 2 is really excellent - sour, funky and tart, lemony. Extremely well balanced and outwardly Russian River. Batch 3 is much more subdued, but still similar. Oily in the mouth, especially when compared to the fresh tartness of batch 2. (batch 2 = 4.3, batch 3 = 3.7). What a fun vertical. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2007 375ml bottle from MrBendo. Batch 2. Aroma: Lots of sour cherries and oak. Brett, light spiciness, and a bit of alcohol. Appearance: Reddish gold in color and slightly hazed. Light bone head was small and creamy with good retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Lots of sour cherries upfront which melds smoothly into the oakiness. Brett gives a light funk in the mid-taste. Tartness gives a good pucker, but isn’t to much. Finishes quite dry. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Another solid offering from RR. Well crafted and delicious. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
