RBSG 2005. Hazy orange amber body, small white head. Brett sour aroma and flavour over barely detectable malt. Cantillon-esque which is high praise I guess if you are fond of such things. Didn’t do much for me, simplistic.

This Belgian Ale pours a murky reddish amber color from a 375ml corked bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is tart, cherries, oak and must. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. Flavors are of tart cherries, must, old book and oak. Lively carbonation, lots of small bubbles. Lots of fruit and cherries, lots of tartness, lots of funk and then even more funk. Then there is all that oak and then there is all the bretts and Flemish sour flavors going on as well. Can you say complex? Nice beer. There is a lot of stuff going on here, and all the complexities balance together well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

37,5cl bottle. Thanks Chris. Pours clear amber with a creamy white head. Sour, tart, oak, sweet matured, sugar, cherries, complex. Bites the cheek. Fresh - vinegar & berries! Ends dry! Very nice!

(Bottled) Hazy amber with a medium, firm and lacy head. Tart and very fruity aroma with not very evident cherries - more like peach. Sour and mildly acidic, fruity flavor of apples, caramely (but dried-out) malt and cherries. Medium-bodied, sparkling-fizzy-carbonated palate. A nice and enjoyable sour ale - but, IMO, slightly lacking in complexity compared to a "typical" 100 percentile beer.

Bottle in a trade. Pours a light brown orange body with a big white head. Aroma is cherries, sour funk and woodiness. Some lacto and pedi, sour brown ale, cherries, a nice tingly CO2 on the tounge. Lemon tart finish that quickly passes. I just had this one a second time at monks in PA with Strasko, its a dam good beer but after seeing America at its best vs. various cantillon brew on draft, it fell just short. I was thinking 3.9-4.2 for a rating so i’ll leave it as is.

RBSG 2005... Poured a hazy orange gold color with a light, off white head, that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbs, tart grapes, sour cherries, brett, and a touch of caramel. Taste of sweet malts, oak, coconuts, pineapple, bretty yeast, tart cherries, and sour grapes.

Original Rating, May 11, 2007. God bless Milkmandan for sharing this. Dark red color with no head. Strong sour cherry aroma. Oh man... dark cherries, oak, slight vanilla, a little sweet malt, moderate sourness. Damn is it fine. SourFest II. Batch 3. Courtesy of Delirium (from BA). Hazy orange color with no head. Light sour aroma. Strong soured malt and wheat taste. A little like dry hay. Re-rating, April 18, 2009. SourFest II. Batch 3. Courtesy of Delirium (from BA). Hazy orange color with no head. Light sour aroma. Strong soured malt and wheat taste. A little like dry hay. 7/3/7/3/16
