Magic_dave6 (3420), Glasgow, Scotland May 9, 2008 Bottle thanks to wetherell! Aroma is sour, dusty funky yeast, cherry character is subtle and as it warms the oxidisation kicks in and is awsome. Taste is similar, very lambic like, perhaps this woul be perfect if there wasnt so much bitterness(of which there is very little) but the bitterness that is there is slightly falts the finish. But im just being pernicity, its an amazing beer, and probably beer of the month.
golubj (936), Redwood City, California, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. Light brown, orange-amber pour with thin off-white head. Aroma is leathery, sour cherries, wood red wine. flavor is tart / sour cherries, red wine, wood, a little sweet malt, lemony finish. Very nice palate. badbeer (358), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Warning: Open this bottle over a bowl so that when it overflows you can still pour it into your glass. I did not use a bowl so the table got to drink a few ounces.
Batch 002
Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Smell is very tart, there are aromas of cherries, but there isn’t a whole lot to them, predominant smells of sour and funk. This is not as sour as some other beers of this style, but that’s not the goal, the goal is to create a damn good brew and I would say mission accomplished. There are sour cherries in the taste as well, but it’s more of a vinegar-like sourness mixed with some oak and some grapes. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and had medium levels of carbonation, finish was dry. Extremely drinkable, I would have plenty of this often if I were given the chance. Rciesla (676), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle in a trade. Pours a light brown orange body with a big white head. Aroma is cherries, sour funk and woodiness. Some lacto and pedi, sour brown ale, cherries, a nice tingly CO2 on the tounge. Lemon tart finish that quickly passes. BOLTZ7555 (402), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 1, 2008 Reddish copper pour with a nice dense off-white head that receded into an 1/8 inch foam but left its mark with thick bands of lacing. Nose is sour cherry skins, pear, funk, and yeast. Flavor is quite interesting...beginning sweet but rapidly transitioning to aggressive tart. Cherry, oak, raisin, lemonade, and grapefruit. Much lower carbonation that Temptation. Actually enjoyed this beer a bit more. BuckeyeSammy (319), New York City, New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Opened side by side with temptation. Nose is cherries, bread, farmhouse funk. Orange amber haze, light head that dissipates quickly. Sweet as it meets your tounge. Tart blast. Palate is very interesting, starts fruity and finishes so extremely sour. Light carbonation. Cherry, sour, funk, fruit, bread. Slouldnt out rate temptation, not balanced. Bottle should be shared.
