Batch 2 Re-Rate. Purchased at the Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA. Pours amber with a think chunky white head. The aroma is devine, very guezey and lambic lke with a lots of sour notes. The cherry flavor comes through yet is somewhat hidden at the same time. This is a stellar beer, really damn amazing. bottle batch 001. Happily consumed at the Brickskeller in Washington DC on 11/25/06, first brew of the night. Pours cloudy straw with a small head. The scent is robust and fully of cherry and oak. The taste is much more like the description then the type, more like a dark ale heavily infused with cherries. The taste is wonderful it flows over the tongue and leaves a nice sweat aftertaste. My brother commented that it tasted sort of like a lambic, its certainly different from other flemish sours I have had, it was damn good I’ll say that much.

Batch 3- poured into a RR barrel glass in celebration of a shitty week at work and my washing machine breaking today. Yee ha. Pours a orange amber colour, with reasonable clarity. Frothy one finger vanilla coloured head with good lacing. Nose- cherry, wood, musty, sour and just damn inviting. Taste- sublime lacto sourness, citric zing, and green apples. Very dry, earthy and woody finish. This brew has dried out quite a bit since the last time I’ve had one. The cherries are more of a complementary player than in the forefront which is fine by me. Drinkability is superb and the spritzy carbonation dances across the tongue. Very well crafted brew.

Batch 002. Sampled 7-6-07. Pours a clouded reddish amber. Nose is a beautiful antiseptic funk. Flavor is outstanding. Crisp woody cahracter with wild, barrel aged goodness. Outstanding. Feel is smooth on liquid. Great level of carbonation. for f**ks sake is this drinkable. Obviously a work of art.

Bottle Batch 003. Sour cherry flavors dance on the palate with a slightly acidic finish. To sum it up in a word...delicious!

Light fruit and a very nice sourness really makes this aroma very enjoyable.Pours a very cloudy orange/brown with a big off white head.Hints of cherry and a very smooth not overpowering sourness dominates the flavor.Medium to full mouthfeel with a very balanced finish.

Had at Logan’s Oceanside beer tasting with AlohaC, and Hair, and Matt, and Ken, Jeff, Colleen, Bill, and others. A real pleasure to try this gem. I’ve been very eager to get a hold of a bottle. I’ve seen it at two other tastings, but didn’t get to try it for one reason or another. Very small sample. Great, great sour cherry aroma. Sourness is mild. Light red color. Tempted to bring my rating up, but 4.5 is pretty high.

Muchos gracias to SoLan for sharing this brew that is currently unavailable here in Florida. Poured an orange-ish maroon with hefty lace. WHOOO---can smell this beer a mile away!! Impressions from the nose trick me into thinking this is a lambic. Huge, I mean HUGE tonsil-biting sour yeast here. This is the Brettanomacron of beer, cuz this kills! Yes, that’s Brettanomyces mixed with Necronomacon. Look it up on Wikipedia. Tastes, besides the sourload, are incredibly tart cherry, small malt, yogurt, bagel n’ cream cheese, and wood. High carbonation, full-bodied. The cherry is long-lasting on the palate. I love Russian River brews and look forward to when we can get them in FL again. Amazing and sinister.
