Beer pours cloudy amber color with a mostly diminishing beige colored head. Aroma is of cherries with lots of wet wood. Flavor is sour with a really nice sweet cherry tartness. Palate is creamy with perfect carbonation. Delicous.

Brilliant red-orange with some haziness. Good nose, caramelized sugar and vanilla, some banana and breadiness, plus sourness, very interesting. Flavor has a huge bit of ginger in the initial kick, then lots of sweetness and mild sourness. Really incredibly bready and cookie-ish, tastes like a big, chewy Christmas cake. Complex, restrained, and elegant.

Serious carbonation in the bottle Sounded like a bottle of Mumm’s when I popped the cork, rather than a bottle of beer. Very pretty pour. Huge head which is lasting a pretty long time. You can hear the bubbles bursting. Dark orange body, bordering on amberish tones. Light fruity aroma, like a framboise. Nice sourness to this. Very winey flavor. When I saw the not about sour cherries I immediately thought about Quelche Chose, but its not as pronounced with the Bret/Ped bugs in there. This could REALLY grow on me. Too bad its so expensive :-)

Thanks to stlwill for sharing this beauty (and probably a couple other I forgot about). Pours hazy amber with a minor white head. The aroma has lots of sour funk, lactic acid, oak, vinegar, tart cherries, wild yeast and barnyard. Medium body with some graininess and some sharp, but soft carbonation. The flavor starts off with berries, lactic sourness, some spiciness, oak, dryness for the style, vinegar, funkiness from the yeast and dry sour cherries. The finish is very tart and dry. This is an excellent beer in every way.

Wow this beer was complex. They did a number of different things to get this beer to taste so great. Pours a deep amber light brown with an ok head but fades to nothing. Aroma is a mix of sour cherries, sweet cherry pie, lots of funkiness from the brett, some oak, red wine, and a wierd citric sourness. Flavor is very much the same with even more oak becoming apparent along with more cherry as it warms. The sour cherries and pediococcus was a great combination.

Poured a hazy orange with a thin off white-head. Funky barnyard aroma with a small amount of stewed cherries. Flavor was tart and woody. Dry bitter finish. I was hoping for a lot more cherry aroma and flavor. If it was there this would have been a good bit over 4 for me. 1/14/06: Re-tasted Bring in da noise bring in da funk. Aroma moving up a point. Light wine, cooked cherries and plenty of leather and barnyard. wine stands out but in a soft and balanced way easpecially toward the finish. I should have bought many more.

Bottle - corked and caged. Batch 001. Muddled amber with a small whitish head. WOW! Nose is Brett, cherries, and FUNK! I love it! I’m also smelling sour grapes out the ying-yang. This could almost be mistaken as a Cantillon product, from what I’m smelling right now (still rather cool, temperature-wise, and no diacetyl as mentioned by others). There’s some lighter balsamic notes, and thinned woody aromas and a light earthiness as well. Fainter wine notes on this. I expected more considering it was aged in Pinot Noir barrels. At any rate, one of the best smelling beers I’ve experienced in a long time. Taste is a bit uneven. Big Brett notes, lighter nuttiness, some grainy parts, light cherry but more wine. The wine grapes come through here the most. Towards the back end of the gulp. Still not picking up on any diacetyl. I’ll let the rest warm to room temperature to explore that later. Right now, I’m really digging what’s in my glass. Body is light-medium with a pleasant dryness and minimal tartness. There’s note a lot of carbonation associated with this either. At times, this is almost still, like a wine. Finish is sour fruits, more Bretty notes, wood, light earth tones, and lighter wine notes. Very nice beer, even at the price. Recommended to all!

Pours with a bright amber body topped by a thin, fizzy head with little lacing left on the glass. It’s sour, tart and vinious with a sour cherry note and an underlying chocolate note that compiments the cherry very nicely. Light bodied, crisp and dry.
