Kids and wife are asleep, SERENITY NOW! Pours deep reddish amber with pourous off white head. For an unfiltered beer, this has a lot of clarity. Aroma is very pleasant, with notes of cherries, brett, oak, and red wine. Soft mouthfeel with fine carbonation. Initial flavor of sour cherries that transitions to an oaky middle. Finish is tart and dry. Some acidity and yeast flavors linger slightly on the palate. Man, this hit the spot. Vinnie is a great artisan brewer that creates complex beers that are not "monster" beers. I really enjoy the softness or subtleness of them. Ross, I ’ll take another..........bitch. kmweaver (2465), Sebastopol, California, USA

Light reddish-brown appearance; off-white head with decent lacing; nothing remarkable in the appearance. Aroma shows tart cherries, horse blanket, perhaps a bit of lemony citrus. Nice, vanilla-tinged tartness upfront, tart cherries, a pleasant toasty oakiness around the edges. Long finish, showing cherries, lemons, and oak. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 21, 2008 A copper pour with a tan head and lace. It almost has the color appearance of a brown liquor. Aroma of sour apple/cherry. A deep cherriness on the flavor with a monster sour that spreads across your mouth and lays. You can lick the sour off your teeth 30 seconds after you drink it. Full bodied with a tad of hot carb. A very nice sour ale. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 13, 2008 thanks cmubeerman. batch 2 and 3 side by side. Batch 2 is really excellent - sour, funky and tart, lemony. Extremely well balanced and outwardly Russian River. Batch 3 is much more subdued, but still similar. Oily in the mouth, especially when compared to the fresh tartness of batch 2. (batch 2 = 4.3, batch 3 = 3.7). What a fun vertical. Marsiblursi (1648), Göteborg, Sweden
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 15, 2009 (Bottle) Pours hazy amber with a sand colored head that holds some red hints. The aroma is lovely lemon citric dryish with bretty tones of horse blanket and barnyard. Cherries and hints of other tart red berries. The subtle oak and tiny vinous notes make the already complex nose more balanced. The dry toasted malt is almost cracker like. The flavour is heavily dry, tart and acidic with tones of lemon acid. Brett and malt brings notes of horse blanket, barnyard, toast, crackers and maybe some dry caramel. Some cherries in the flavour as well. Light vinous fruity. The mouthfeel is a bit round and medium carbonated. Lingering citric and woody tones. Medium bodied. DTB (51), South Philly, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 15, 2006 This beer pours an amber cherry color with a thin uniform bubble head that is sustained by a few little bubbles from the bottom. There isn’t any lace as the head just slides down the side.
Smells strongly of oak with a bit of cherries, mandarin orange, raisins and a pungent chemical smell.
The flavor is at first dominated by oak, but then transitions into a delightful wild cherry and sour milk flavor and then finishes with a clean oak that left my tongue tingling.
The mouth feel is light to medium with a smooth carbonation.
This is an awesome sipper. Definitely give this a whirl.
