| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Poured a pale ruby color with a thin but sturty pinkish cap. The nose was complex with cherry, oak, vanilla and notes of vino. The taste starts with a sour cherry bite. The oak from the nose is next, but bearly noticableon the tongue. The end had a tart and slight merengue taste along with a musty pinot smack. The red wine influence and woody dryness really comes across in the finish. The feel was medium/light in body, quite dry and tart. This was a really nice, easy drinking Ameri-lambic. It’s a little pricy at $11, but well worth checking out. A gem of an ale from Russian River. mtoast (304), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a hazy pinkish light brown with quickly disappearing bubbly foam. Aroma is huge and oaky with more dimensions than Lawnmower Man. Flavor is a bit harsh at first but settles into it’s own as it warms up, tart fruity and dry dry dry. Good stuff. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2006 Bottle, with ClarkVV and Sully. Beautiful stuff. Hazy deepish orange/amber. Aroma is sour and oaky, slightly wild, citruc, berries and oak. Beautiful mouthfeel and flavour. Juicy, acidic, sour, yet quite smooth and refreshing. Lightly caramelly malts also noticed, but this is more about the bret characters, and that wonderfuly vinous, oaky, juicy cherry character (or characters as it were). This was very well balanced, and something i really would like to try again. Fantastic. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2005 Beautiful misty amber gold pour, aroma is tart cherry, yeasty. Flavor is complex, tart cherry but nicely balanced with vinous woody tones, somewhat light mouthfeel, finishes tangy tart dry fruity. Gorgeous creation. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Jan 9, 2006 6/05 bottle. Hazy red-amber body, thin white bubbly head. Ripe sweet cherry aroma with cinnamon-laced apple pie and an acidic linger. When I first started sipping on this guy I thought it was a simplistic cherry kriek but with patience it gets better. The biggest flavor component to me is bready yeast followed by sweet cherry skins, vanilla? and a chocolately malt pushed waay into the background. As with the aroma there’s an acidic aura over the whole flavor. Finishes with tart cherry skin and citric acid. Bubbly but medium-strength mouthfeel that leaves a bit of satisfying sweet stickiness on the tongue. The beer with the cherries+barrels is pretty nice but the special yeasts do a fantastic job of offsetting the sweetness, and not with too much tartness/acidity! This certainly isn’t some bombastic Cantillon, this stuff has restraint.
This is a special beer exhibiting the best American utilization of Belgian bugs that I’ve seen. Great job! bierkoning (6077), La Tropica, Netherlands

Cherries, marzipan, leather, oak and grapefruit in the aroma. Sour flavor with oak, hint of cherries and leather. Dry out effect in the aftertaste with leather, caramel, plastic and grapefruit. Astonishing complex, great beer. radiomgb (2031), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Orange, long lasting off white head, good lacing.
Aroma is lightly sour, good amount of citrus, some sweetness, cheese.
Flavour is fairly sharp, acidic, lots of citrus, pink grapefruit tartness, good funk, sweetness lingers throughout.
Tart mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation.
Finishes long, tart, high acidity, dry.
Pretty damn good. Each sip brings new flavours and even more complexity. Best American brewery.
375ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.
