Poured a pale ruby color with a thin but sturty pinkish cap. The nose was complex with cherry, oak, vanilla and notes of vino. The taste starts with a sour cherry bite. The oak from the nose is next, but bearly noticableon the tongue. The end had a tart and slight merengue taste along with a musty pinot smack. The red wine influence and woody dryness really comes across in the finish. The feel was medium/light in body, quite dry and tart. This was a really nice, easy drinking Ameri-lambic. It’s a little pricy at $11, but well worth checking out. A gem of an ale from Russian River.

375mL Bottle, Batch #2. Pours a hazy pinkish light brown with quickly disappearing bubbly foam. Aroma is huge and oaky with more dimensions than Lawnmower Man. Flavor is a bit harsh at first but settles into it’s own as it warms up, tart fruity and dry dry dry. Good stuff.

Bottle, with ClarkVV and Sully. Beautiful stuff. Hazy deepish orange/amber. Aroma is sour and oaky, slightly wild, citruc, berries and oak. Beautiful mouthfeel and flavour. Juicy, acidic, sour, yet quite smooth and refreshing. Lightly caramelly malts also noticed, but this is more about the bret characters, and that wonderfuly vinous, oaky, juicy cherry character (or characters as it were). This was very well balanced, and something i really would like to try again. Fantastic.

Beautiful misty amber gold pour, aroma is tart cherry, yeasty. Flavor is complex, tart cherry but nicely balanced with vinous woody tones, somewhat light mouthfeel, finishes tangy tart dry fruity. Gorgeous creation.

Original Rating, May 11, 2007. God bless Milkmandan for sharing this. Dark red color with no head. Strong sour cherry aroma. Oh man... dark cherries, oak, slight vanilla, a little sweet malt, moderate sourness. Damn is it fine. SourFest II. Batch 3. Courtesy of Delirium (from BA). Hazy orange color with no head. Light sour aroma. Strong soured malt and wheat taste. A little like dry hay. Re-rating, April 18, 2009. SourFest II. Batch 3. Courtesy of Delirium (from BA). Hazy orange color with no head. Small offwhite head, retention is fair as is the lacing. Lightly hazy orange color starting to turn brown. Lightly fruity nose, pears, vinous and wood with faint oxydation. Body is medium, soft carbonation, lightly acidic and puckering. Smooth wood and fruit flavors, tartness is subdued, cherry notes, spicey, lightly vinegery, musty and funky. Tart, funky fruity finish. Surprise, surprise, nice. Props to FlacoAlto for the bottle he bonused me in a trade we did in Jan. of 07. Thanks Bro!!

just like temptation, this beer is about 10X better on the fourth sip than it is on the first. the sourness is such a surprise at first it take your buds a few seconds to adjust, but then, it’s like magic and you don’t want it to end.

Deep orange/gold and hazy in color. Decent head and quickly fading lace. Great nose of wet horse blanket, but not as big as Cantillon, notes of fruit, slight vanilla and oak. Dances on your tongue, this beer has alot of finesse, sour upfront but very well balanced with malts, cherries, oak and you can feel the tannins glide over your tongue. I thought this was lacking in finish but the more I sip on it, the more complex this beer gets, and its more of a silky finish.
