Pours a light gold with plenty of rising bubbles and leaves lots of lacing. The carbonation is definitely noticeable. Aromas of sour sugar and apple, slightly oaky. Fairly simple sour that actually got flatter as it warmed. carruthm (1123), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 6, 2009 The color is a hazy orange-gold with a lively white head (gushed just a bit). Aroma has a pleasant funky sourness that can only come from my pal Brett. Some wood, wine, and citrus detectable as well. MrChopin (632), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 1, 2009 Batch 003 thanks to kegbear and DirtyMartini! Cork blew out after I put a corkscrew into it, but no beer gushed. That beautiful, shimmering, hazy golden-straw color, fluffy white head with ample lacing... beautiful. Nose is really well put together: fruit with lots of wine and brett--yeast, egg, citrus, and hints of leather. Flavor is driven by the chardonnay, all the way through the finish. More citrus and yeast, again light leather. I like this a lot, but for me the wine is too overpowering in the flavor and the dry body bordered on fizzy overkill when coupled with the heavy carbonation. Another show-stopper from RR, but not an absolute favorite. Reminiscent of JP Luciernaga. hrking (108), Muncie, Indiana, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2009 I think I was expecting this to be more sour than it actually was but the wine barrel must have sweetened it up. Aged in chardonnay barrels really smoothed this one out and I think it personally could be a little more sour for my liking but this is a great beer none the less and if you are lucky enough to latch onto a bottle like i was I recommend it .. It is without a doubt a world class brew! Cheers. Hank1980 (737), Athens, Georgia, USA

Aroma of vinegar, apple, wine, oak, funk. Taste is also vinous, with plenty of oak and tart fruit. Very interesting and sharp brew. Body is light and very carbonated. Overall, another enjoyable sour from RR.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Batch Number 003 bottle and sampled at Skyview Sourfest II and shared by Deliriumfest. Pours a hazy golden brew with a fizzy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white top. Aroma of tart pear and brut champagne character with some yeast and tart apples. Taste is fizzy and medium bodied, with flavors of white grapes, apples, some yeast and a hint of Bret. Finish is slightly tart and dry, a little smooth texture with a aftertaste flavor of pear, yeast and dry apples.
