Sep 27, 2008 Batch 3 bottle- appearance is a murky golden with three finger head and excellent lacing. Nose- sweet white grapes, lemon rinds. Taste- champagne like carbonation, blast of white grape sharpness and green apple sourness. Has a wood/ mineral like dryness to the finish. Really dries out the mouth. Having had the previous two batchs, the brett is definitely more prounounced each time out. Great stuff

Sep 27, 2008 Updated: Oct 12, 2008Good clarity, pleasing pee-yellow color from batch 3, bottle. Lemon/Mineral Orval-ish aroma.
Sour dominates but does not overwhelm, with flavors of crab apple, cherry, unripe apple and oak. Extra punch from effervescence lasts. Not a clone, but first cousin of Orval: less cherry, more explosive finish. Aligned and sublime.

Sep 20, 2008 Ratebeer dropped my rating after I typed and I don’t feel like typing the full rating again. Overview: Batch 003 Pours golden with light white head. Aroma is oak and grapes like a white wine more than beer. Flavor is sour but well balanced with the oak and doesn’t make you pucker after you drink. Finish is oak and sour but not lingering too long. Will review more when I get another in a trade.

Sep 15, 2008 From a bottle poured a slightly hazy golden/orange color with a good amount of head. Nice tart flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Sep 3, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a medium off white head. Aroma of oak and yeast. A very nice sour citrus bitterness and with a good amount of funk. I good amount of oak in the finish that is all the way sour. Wonderful beer.

Sep 1, 2008 Murky golden yellow in colour with a thin white coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is a bit oaky, light notes of alcohol, fruity with a bt of sourness. The flavour is again a bit oaky, some citrus, yeast, white grape skins, acidic with some light alcohol. Sweet and dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes lingering and lightly sour.
Quite smooth and the sourness is very well balanced. I can see this aging quite well. I feel that I need more of this and I have both batch 1 and 3 so more samples are in order.

Aug 31, 2008 Batch 3 bottle shared by mentor, thanks dude! Poured a cloudy, pale golden-straw color with a moderate off-white head that clung to the glass nicely. Aroma of soft yeastiness with some light citrus including apricot and mango, and a soft wine-like oak funk. Sweet, lightly tart entry leads into a moderate yeastiness with some barnyard funk and undertones of soft citrus fruit, finishing lightly sour with some yeast and oak in the finish. Smooth, soft carbonation.

Aug 30, 2008 This was going to be my 400th rating, but I got thirsty and impatient so it was 399 instead. Lovely bright cloudy golden pour with pillowy white head. Nose gave more more oak than funk... and overall, that was the relative disappointment for me. Sour, but overall more woody than anything else. Oak was huge, with notes of citrus and chardonnay; quite lovely, but damn if it was really worth the rarity and cost. Amazing mouthfeel.
