BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bottle acquired via Taverner...THANKS MARK!!! Hazy 24-karat pour with a massive white head that you could easily rest a quarter on. Citrus, sour apple, brett funk and lemon zest on the nose. Quite tart but surprisingly quite quenching. This is, without doubt, one of the best sours I’ve sampled. The pucker is short and sweet...earthy barnyard funk and lemon grass, partnered with grapefruit and a hint of oak. Really liked it. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA Jun 30, 2008 To answer the question...It’s beer! wonderful beer! what is is hard to believe is that this is american. effervescent and tart, no make that just a bit sour, but in the best way. definately was sad when my glass was empty. NobleSquirrel (1100), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle thanks to Timmy300. This was what I knew would get us going. Poured and cloudy yellow with a nice head. Nose is huge, lots of Brett and citrus, apples and champagne. First taste is amazing, tons of acid and sour grass, lemon juice, apple cider and dry white wine. Full body. Quenching and more. Gotta love the lambic culture. Best beer I’ve had in a long time. laguerita (111), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 29, 2008 orangey tart and sour. nice yellow color nd head. not really my style but can definitely appreciate it. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 29, 2008 Sampled at Hellbilly’s Hellraiser II. Good sour and tart aroma. Yellow body with white head. Dry sour just as the style says. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Jun 29, 2008 [bottle, batch 3, shared with DarkMagus] Pours a hazy yellow with a very dense white head. Loads of visible carbonation. Aroma is quite tart and funky. Flavors are full of microbiology.. tart and funky brett character provides some interesting pineapple and fruit esters. Really complex and bone-dry finish. Thirst quenching and delicious. An outstanding beer, overall. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 28, 2008 Opened side by side with supplication. Orange haze with a light thin head. Delicate beer. Oak barrels very present on the nose, white wine, and a touch of funk. Palate is slighly buttery, full, tart finish. Balanced sour.. Wine, tart carbonation, funk. Sour/ tartness not overpowering in the least. Great sour ale. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 big aroma of ceder and oak with a musty basement or wine barrel room flair. hazy apercot color with high lacing. interesting and developed flavor with blue mold and ripe cheese, lactic and long. subtle and complex the supplication burned my pallet a bit unfortunately. the beer is dry and has a clean finish than lingers just a bit in the back.
