spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Apr 30, 2007 Aroma was a nice sourness with some slight oak and citrus as well.Pours a medium copper with a medium off white head.A very smooth sourness with some noticable oak in the flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a sour finish. hayduke (1620), Eureka, California, USA Apr 30, 2007 This was Batch 2 and when the cork came out with a satisfying pop a cloud of steam rose from the bottle, followed about five seconds later by a pillar of foam. Split with my brother into two Duvel glasses, this poured a rich cloudy golden color that was unique in its creamyness. Nose is quite sour, but full of very complex aromas, that seems like apple, pear, grapes, apricot, and citrus. Mouthfeel very rich and smooth, and your tastebuds just dance. Flavors are much like the nose, and is more citrus than the aroma, and the finish is wonderfully sour. Almost as good as Duvel, there is nothing quite like this and you simply have to love what this brewer can do. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA Apr 24, 2007 bottle-wow, what a treat here! cloudy yellow with a small fizzy head. almost looks like a wit. wonderful nose-full of brett funk, estery goodness-lite lemon, wild funk, grapes, its all over the place wonderful! delightlfully sour flavors -grapes, lemongrass, funk, woody dryness on the finish. body is lite with crispness. truely a unique and brew that is in a class of its own. definately seek this one out! MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Apr 19, 2007 375ml - Batch 002 - #700 - Aroma of oak, brett, white grape and bready yeast. Pours cloudy gold with a medium creamy head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with some grassiness and lemon peel. Palate is sour and sticky. Another very tasty RR brew I could drink all the time if available. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Apr 18, 2007 Bottle at O’Briens. This was a side by side comparrison with Suplication. Temptation wins. Sour apple, with pears, and apricotts. More acidic then RR Suplication, but it works for this style. Russian River does a good job creating strong tasting beers, that continues to impress. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Apr 11, 2007 The bottle overflowed. Slightly sour, fruity aroma. Hazy golden color with a little white head (and a few yeast chunks). Starts with apple, immediately hits strong sour notes. The wood is present, and seems to be the predominate element in the finish. Tart, dry ending. Like life. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Apr 7, 2007 This beer had a head that just would not quit. Lovely to look at. Taste was mildly sour with great belgian characteristics. Those Russian River brewers really know how to make beer that is like nothing else available. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Mar 27, 2007 Huge thanks to Beerdrenched for sharing this great beer, my first Russian River. Pours moderate yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fruity and tart (very brett) with pepper, white grapes and sharp citric lemon - very sweet / tart flavors. Medium / light body with minor sharp carbonation. The taste starts with sharp citric lemon, lots of sour / tart traits, bits of wood and grainy spice. The finish is wonderfully sour and refreshing. Lots of tart goodness. Thumbs up for this fantastic beer.
