Batch 1. Been looking forward to trying a Russian River brew for a very long time. Pours a cloudy golden body with an off white head. Medium retention and nice lacing. Aromas of yeast, sour cherries and raisins, oak, acidic notes, and some funkiness. Flavor is all of the above, blended together nicely. Palate is dry, with medium carbonation. Finish is sour and dry, but not overpowering. Great brew. toncatcher (228), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 30, 2007 This was Batch 2 and when the cork came out with a satisfying pop a cloud of steam rose from the bottle, followed about five seconds later by a pillar of foam. Split with my brother into two Duvel glasses, this poured a rich cloudy golden color that was unique in its creamyness. Nose is quite sour, but full of very complex aromas, that seems like apple, pear, grapes, apricot, and citrus. Mouthfeel very rich and smooth, and your tastebuds just dance. Flavors are much like the nose, and is more citrus than the aroma, and the finish is wonderfully sour. Almost as good as Duvel, there is nothing quite like this and you simply have to love what this brewer can do. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
