| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2006 bottle at Monks Cafe, Philly. I am glad I finally got to try this. Hazy straw/light golden with good carbonation and a long lasting medium then small head. Aroma is light colored fruit, apples, pears, and is quite tart- smells like a brett bomb, in a good way. Taste is much like the aroma, tart fruit- pears, apple with a slighly sour and bitter fruit finish. beerbill (1955), Laurel, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 5, 2009 A huge thank you to Dickinsonbeer for opening up his cellar and sharing one bottle each of all three batches. My rating here is batch 3, although batch 1 ran a close second for me. 375 ml bottle. The cork nearly exploded out of the bottle when Paul pulled it. Pours a beautiful brilliant clear gold with a moderate white head. There is some funk in the nose, but nothing heavy. There is also a bright, fruity tartness along with some oak in the aroma. The flavor is very interesting and has a few different things going on that all comes together perfectly. There is chardonnay and some mellow oak. There is a also granny smith apple and a bit of lemon, which adds a brightness to the flavor. The brett adds some funk, but it doesn’t dominate or overwhelm. Bright, lively and clean on the palate. Excellent! Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 20, 2006 375 ml bottle from batch 001. Hazy orange with a nice head that faded to a decent ring. Aromas were bret from the beginning. Sour Cherry pie filling, with just a hint of sweet around the edges. Flavor just about loses the sweet part complely. Starts off sour and very vinous. Wood is apparent in the middle. Then a grapefruitti bitterness toward the end that fades rapidly into a very dry finish. Pretty tasty. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Clear bright gold with a thin, white head. Nose very aggressively sour, some fruit and cheddar. Flavor is sweet, lots of cookie-ish malt, creamy and mildly sour. Vaguely cheesy, quite sweet, nice malts. Very good stuff, the oakiness blends in beautifully with the beer rather than overpowering it. Great stuff. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2005 Moderately hazy and translucent gold with cascading lace and some skittish bubbles in cloisters. Perfect aromatic display of pinot grigio, green grape skin and moderate lemon husk scraps. Complexities, follow me. Additional wafts and flavor spawned dimensions hint at stamped chardonnay grapes and souring compounds reminiscent of pears to some degree. In check sourness prevails with brett and dirty yeast. Soured from the confines of the wine barrel. Trace elements of oaken smoothness. Green grapes and select persuasions of chardonnay and pinot gregio are definitely enjoying their hay day. Fruity tendencies of pears and granny smith apples also aid the sweetly souring mission. Lovely. Thanks for sharing, JPDIPSO! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2006 After a 3 or 4 mile hike, this became pretty "tempting." Anyway, stupid pun aside... batch 1 poured a cloudy golden orange body with a moderate sized head. Excellent lacing on the glass, almost Orvalesque. Huge complex aroma. Spices, oranges, a light barnyard sourness, the smooth oak aroma, it’s all here. However, what I really appreciated is that this is so well balanced and put together as well. Complex but delicate. The barnyard action nor the oak aging were over the top. You know it’s there, and it’s done well. A must try, even at $8.50/375ml bottle.
