Perfect aromatic display of pinot grigio, green grape skin and moderate lemon husk scraps. Complexities, follow me. Additional wafts and flavor spawned dimensions hint at stamped chardonnay grapes and souring compounds reminiscent of pears to some degree. In check sourness prevails with brett and dirty yeast. Soured from the confines of the wine barrel. Trace elements of oaken smoothness. Green grapes and select persuasions of chardonnay and pinot gregio are definitely enjoying their hay day. Fruity tendencies of pears and granny smith apples also aid the sweetly souring mission. Lovely. Thanks for sharing, JPDIPSO! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Anyway, stupid pun aside... batch 1 poured a cloudy golden orange body with a moderate sized head. Excellent lacing on the glass, almost Orvalesque. Huge complex aroma. Spices, oranges, a light barnyard sourness, the smooth oak aroma, it’s all here. However, what I really appreciated is that this is so well balanced and put together as well. Complex but delicate. The barnyard action nor the oak aging were over the top. You know it’s there, and it’s done well. A must try, even at $8.50/375ml bottle. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA

Strong musty cellar, oak and barnyard aroma. Flavors of vinous and lemon fruit with strong oak and barnyard musty earth. A very refreshing taste here with a mildly sour acidic finish. Very lambic-like nose - mildly sour, barnyardy brett. Lively, bubbly body. Fascinating flavors - sharp white wine notes, lightly sour brett, mild vanilla touches. WOW! Like nothing I have ever had. What a thrilling beer! Still have not found the cage? Hazy gold pour with fizzy white head and a single ring of lace. Oak and granny smith apple aroma. Very fruity& sweet bread up front with a great tart finish underlined with pleasant oak goodness. Apricot type aftertaste. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Well-hazed, golden/amber topped with a thick film that laced. Moldy notes in the aroma (rotting cardboard), with green grapes and oak. Wood presence is dominant in flavor with yeasts in remission until the finish, which is funky and vinous. Creamy, sour and interesting.

Tastes of Apples, Nutmeg, Chardoney, hints of oak. The oak compliments for forward tastes very well. Reminds me somewhat of Deus, but much cheaper.
