Tried again at PP bottle shop, batch 3 I think. Again from Ryan. This beer is awesome. Same rating. I like it better than Beatification. kiefdog (1628), Tampa, Florida, USA

Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of honey, citrus, vinegar, overripe cherries, yeast, some hints of caramel and grass. Flavor is about the same. Medium body with a fruity finish. douglas88 (1626), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bottle shared generously by Eric, thanks! Pours a cloudy light orange with a explosive and small white head. The aroma is fruity and full of yeast like a BSA but also really tart. Some sour oak notes stand out. The flavor is similar; smooth and tart sour oak, yeast, some citrus and a fairly dry and acidic finish. Very nice. A fizzy and lively moutfeel. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Bottle Batch #1. Good aroma and great appearance with nice head that stays. Cloudy look as to the mysteryiousness of this brew. Flavor is fantastic. Not too oaky but well balanced flavor that has the perfect amount of spice. Very smooth and good mouthfeel. One of the best belgian ales I’ve ever had. Cheers! TURDFERGUSON (1604), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 5, 2006 12.7 FL. OZ bottle obtained via trade with Ty5592. Thanks brother! Woody, wet cardboard, funk, brett, apple skin, lemon rind. Flavors are slightly reminiscent of a white wine but are more distinctive of a well crafted wood aged beer for me. Pleasent bretty flavors, nothing too sour (too sour can be wonderful, btw) but also not too sweet. Smooth with a thick and gooey mouthfeel. Alcohol is evident but by no means overpowering. Wish I had more of this wonderful brew. I need more Russian Rivers. Someone please help me. beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

Used St. Sebastiaan small tulip glass. Pours with some lacing, very cloudy yellow. Cannot see through the beer. The smell is potent. The beer is silky smooth in your mouth wherein the rougher edges of a beer are dulled by the chardonnay taste. Goes down very smooth. Feel a slight warming feeling at the bottom of mt throat. Tastes of sourness tickle the sour censors on my tongue. 8/4/7/3/16
Re-rate: batch 003, shared by JB. Completely murky with a thick golden color. Aroma is very dry floral brettiness. Taste is more floral and citrus brett. Well. its glorious brett. 8/4/8/4/16 Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Nose is sour apples, cherry and lemon. Palate is lemons, cheese, yeast, aspirin and funk. Medium mouth feel. This was superior to beatification in my opinion. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 25, 2006 From a caged corked 375 ml. olive green bottle with a blurb on the back label with serving instructions, batch number 002, glassware suggestion on the cork, sampled at a cooler cellar temperature in a Russian River wild ale snifter.
Poured as suggested, a clear orangey golden with foamy, bubbly topped white head that settled into a thin lacing, minimal amount of laced sticking.
Aromas of wild barnyard yeastiness, chardonnay wine-like, sour cherries, a light hayish hoppiness and whiffs of alcohol.
Good airy carbonation and a crisp, dry, velvety smooth light bodied mouthfeel.
Delicious wild ale taste, tart, sour cherries with lemons and limes squeezed over them, dry grain bready, a subtle oak barrel woodiness, a soft spicy hoppiness, the alcohol is well masked, but warming in the palate, and a dry, sour and sweet maltiness with a little lingering leafy hoppiness.
Purchased from the Russian River website, just an excellent wild ale, one of the best I’ve had, tasty and balanced, a must try.
