| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Several pints at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. What can you say about this one? Frankly, this is the sour beer that all American sours should be compared to. Translucent, hazy, cloudy, yellow gold with a thick, foamy head. The nose is really nice, lemons, yeast, earth, herbs, white grapes, sweet, tart, sour, strong, inviting. Flavor is excellent too: wheat, grass, lemons, flowers, garden herbs, slight wood, earth, wine, oranges. Finish is dry and funky. There are beers out there with crazier flavors but none are this solid. Well crafted. danielcurtis81 (890), San Diego, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2008 003. Orange pour with a thin white head. Funky tart aroma. Oak was a big part in this, but some fruit and lemon as well. lots of acidic tartness really added to the complexity. This was very good. illidurit (878), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Pours a pale apricot/straw shade with a billowy off-white head of tiny white bubbles, indicating yet another RR wild ale with impeccable carbonation. Several columns of bubbles stream upwards. The head leaves huge chunks of lacing on the glass.
Nose is full of a nice brett funkiness. In the background there are notes of fruity sweetness, champagne tartness, lemon, and a hint of the sour cherry found in Supplication.
Taste is very tart, almost sour. Unripe apple, lemon, lime, and white wine all make an appearance. Mouth puckering and exquisite.
Just as I thought, the carbonation is beautiful. Russian River is easily king of the Belgian style mouthfeel. Smooth, drying, tart finish.
If you can handle sour, this beer is very drinkable. I’m glad I have another in the fridge. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Bottle courtesy of realale420, thanks again Brian! Cloudy bright yellow pour with a fizzy bone white head. Aroma of light bret, subtle barn yard elements...wood and light vinous notes as well and a bit of yeast and a light sour fruitiness. The flavor certainly has some strong wood and wine character...very dry vinous and light sour fruit elements with an earthy woodiness and light amounts of spice, funk, and yeast. Medium-light body with a sturdy yet not overt carbonation...dry, fruity, and sour throughout and finishes lightly sour and super-dry. Nice brew.
