Aroma is fine and refreshing, it has subtile lactic and citric sensations allong with hints of flower bloossems and hints of Greek Yoghurt. The more complex aroma’s come from the woody caracter of the barrels. It has a tart edge with a smooth vanilla accent. The taste is crisp, well ballanced and has a complex refreshing lambik like souriness. It is light to medium boddied but this great brew has so much to offer. The spectrum of the taste sensations is so wide and goes from a light maltyness over some noble wood to lactic yoghurt, sour fruits like (Duindoorn), vanilla, ripe rubarb, lemon zest and some honey. This is what ballance is all about. ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark

Strong aroma with hints of vanilla and apricots soon overtaken by earthy brett-aromas. Murky dark yellow with small white head. Flavor is complex, slightly sour with a dry, bitter finish. Aftertaste is tart and fruity with marzipan kicking in. Smooth mouth feel and mellow carbonation. Tart, but balanced without the vinegar notes as many Belgian sour ales and with so many layers of complexity revealing itself up as at warms. *Very* nice! Enjoyed with aged Pie D’anglois and my homemade rye bread, which it complemented beautifully :-) SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2005 A sweeter smelling sourness that is malty upfront with sour hints in the back. Light straw and hazy in color, with slight head. Flavor is light at first then develops into a complex 1 minute absorbtion into this beer. For the first second it seem like a really light beer then the rich malts and tartness come in and linger. Neeeeeeed some more! FrancoisMtl (61), Boisbriand, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Mar 19, 2006 Pours Pale golden hazy color with nice white head but disappear quikly to leave a fine lace that stick to the edge of the glass. Strong brett nose with some oak perfum. Flavors are more quiet than aromas but it is a nice play between malt, acidity and fruitiness (pear & grapefruit). The grapes are also pretty evident which brings more complexity and depth to this beer. Too bad I only had a bottle.
