| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 4, 2008 WOW, I can’t believe I finally got to try this beer. Thanks to Ughsmash for sharing some of his sample with me for this rating at DLD. Hazy orange-red with long lasting medium beige head. Aroma is really funky amd a little earthy with red fruit, pretty nice. Exquisite sour flavor with dirty, cherry, medium sweetness, really well done and balanced. Medium body with a little pucker, more would be nice but that is just a preference and doesn’t take away from the actual beer itself. An aesome beer, who knew that I would be trying so many sours at an imperial stout release. Ughsmash (4019), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2008 Bottled at DLD, thanks to masonjer for opening! Poured medium or a touch deeper amber with a nice cap of beige head.. sticky lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up sour darker fruit skins and vinegar upfront with dusty funk and a hit of darker sweetness behind. The flavor was good and tart with malt vinegar and tart cherry skins.. finished dry with some grainy yeast and cherry sweetness.. there was more than I could comprehend going on here, but it sure came together well. Tart overall on the palate with a dry and refreshing finish.. very well done! masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 had been looking forward to trying this one, I was not dissapointed. Poured a nice orange amber color. Aroma was some sour funk and wood coming through, as well as a vinous quality. Taste was nice funk, nothing mouth puckering, but almost soft for a sour, nice backing fruit and some wood as well, slightly earthy as well. This was very well balanced, nice full mouthfeel, drinkable yet packed with flavor. Looks like they nailed the blend. JorisPPattyn (5170), Antwerpen, Belgium

Very nice sourish lactic and Brett nose, grapes, wine, some horseblanket, leather, and lots of citrus. Sour-wry, tart, wild berries, quite some hops as well. Very well bodied despite the acidload, chewy, creamy texture if it ends a bit sharp. Very good, typical RR beer. Thanks to Toronado owner - and Dr. Bill rickgordon (3297), Göteborg, Sweden

Interesting aroma from menthol, chocolate and funky brett. Solid flavour backbone of sweaty horse, backed up by exotic fruits and chocolate. Nice, smooth malty mouthfeel with oaky undeertones. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Hazy dark amber body with a medium sized, fluffy beige head. Funky tart nose with oak, cherry, light melon, pineapple and a touch of bourbon. The flavor is lightly sweet and lightly sour with cotton candy sweetness, caramel, cherries, plum skins, light pineapple, oaky vanilla and light bourbon. Medium/full body is soft with moderate carbonation and a tannic finish. Superb. kmweaver (2455), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2008 750mL bottle, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a murky, orange-amber color; solid light-tan head with gorgeous medium-bubbled lacing; very attractive pour; regenerative head. Tons of stuff going on in the aroma: lots of dry, funky, tart citrus and cherries; vinous, toasty red wine notes throughout; dry, tart, gorgeous red fruit. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: slightly tannic red wine, coupled to a sour red fruit / citrus brettiness; warm, slight bourbon (questionable) and toasty oak (not questionable); so much goodness going on in this beer; dry throughout, light toasty oak and vanilla; dark fruits; great blended sour beer. Lengthy finish, showing tart citrus, tannic red fruits and bread.
