Pours an amber orange with a beige head. Funky nose. Yeast, citrus, oak, barnyard. The tongue is not let down wither with the complexities of citrus, yeast, oaky, earthy, green and red grapes, grapefruit, and barnyard funk. Really tasty. ChainGangGuy (2557), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 10, 2007 Appearance: Pours a cloudy, amber-colored body with a fizzy, full off-white head.
Smell: Gracious, here’s an aroma overflowing with sour Brett notes. Beyond that there’s mild caramel malts, oak barrels, cherries, and vanilla.
Taste: Light caramel maltiness along with flavors of vanilla, dried cherries, and maybe even a spritz of lemon juice. Nice mild oaken character to it. Earthy yeastiness. There’s definitely plenty of sourness crammed into this beer. The alcohol is very temperate and only provides a little heat to the sour, drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: Quite nice! Russian River really did a bang-up job of blending. drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Updated: Sep 17, 2008Thanks to AlanC. The beer pours a dark reddish brown copper color with a small head that sticks around in a medium lacing. Aroma is very strong on grape skins and brett that’s surrounded by malt sweetness. The aroma does come off as a blended beer, it’s a compilation of unrelated profiles, sour, barleywine strong maltiness, and a Belgian sweetness. Taste is much lower on the sour stuff, comes out with just low tartness and a bit of sour cherry covered by thick chewy malts. Rather easy drinking for a strong sour beer. It would be easy to sit there and finish a whole bottle by yourself. 750mL cork&cage, St Paul snifter/tulip glass. 9/4/7/4/16
One year old bottle, shared my mreusch. Foams out the bottle. Aroma is light black cherry sour and oxidized barrel. Really mellowed out, none of that barleywine or strong Belgian left. Taste has a bit more sour kick but as it warms the oxidation just grows and grows. Oh man, the sour helps but all that barrel and age coming through, aging too fast. 8/4/7//3/15 notalush (2656), Denver, Colorado, USA
