Gr0ve (1113), Oslo, Norway Jan 4, 2008 500 ml bottle. Dark brown with a reddish hue. Some cloudiness. Rich nutty malty aroma. Thick malt crispness and complexity. Lots of caramel. Rounded and very drinkable. Residual sweetness balances the alcohol nicely. Very rich. Perfect next to the furnace. Reminds me a little of a strong Norwegian Christmas, only this one is unpasteurised and unfiltered. cphbeerking (153), København K, Denmark Oct 20, 2007 A strong burst of hops greets the reveller upon admiring this beautiful organic beer: deep copper hues, first-rate foam and lacing. Goes down like a hearty, hoppy, malty ale at the pub and stays in your system with grace. Certainly well-crafted. The organic ingredients aspect to this beer might be felt more on a texture level than in actual taste. More brewers ought to make the switch to the virtue of things organic, if only for the occasional outing -- there’s something inherently good about wholesome products such as this. HenrikSoegaard (3168), Randers, Denmark Sep 23, 2007 Bottle. Creamy white good fully lasting head. Orange-amber colour. Light malty heavy hoppy aroma with strong grassy notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Powerfull long nice finish with nice licorice notes. Creamy palate. Great beer. Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 7, 2008 500 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown body with a dense, fast disappearing off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, traces of chocolate and a slightly hint of cellar notes. Flavor is Sweet, bitter chocolate, caramel and a hint of rum. I find this a very plesant beer. Ole_R (1279), Oslo, Norway Jan 13, 2008 Bottle @ Internasjonalen, Oslo, enjoyed with fellow Ratebeerians Sigmund and KnutAlbert. Fully lasting big beige head. Unclear, deep amber color. Nice malty sweetness in the aroma. Also notes of light sweet and acidulous fruits. Taste is medium sweet; caramellish malts, berries, warming alcohol and a distinct bittterness that goes all the way to the finish. Good body. Feels crisp and clean in the mouth. Dry finish. A very nice one.
