Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 10, 2006 Updated: Mar 30, 2006A hazy pale brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is of smoked malt, while the flavor is sweet with notes of caramel combined with strong smoke notes, as well as lesser notes of beechwood. The mouthfeel is dry and flat. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden May 22, 2006 [Draught at Købehavnske Øldage] Hazy pale amber. Dominated by salty well sweated sauna smoke. Dryish with rounded mouthfeel and medium body. The somewhat bold malt makes it hard for the flavours to come out properly, and when they do I get some cellary notes. Not entirely succesful. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 28, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours an unclear dark brown with a tiny and completely dissipating off-white head. Roasted, malty nose with a touch of smoke. Fairly full-bodied with sweetish, roasted malts and lightly smoky accents. Dry, hoppy finish. Not a bad effort from Søgaard. 270106 yespr (6259), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 16, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours hazzlenut brown with a dense light brown head. Rubber, tar and smoked aroma. Flavour is dry, slight honey like beneath a persisting heavy smoke note.
