Pours a muddy pale reddish brown. The head disappears quickly and is really nothing to speak of. Aroma is great, and quite the surprise. Oak, biscuits, Belgian sugars, toffee and caramel. Very full and extremely creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is nice and complex; oak, toffee and a very powerful base of raisins at the end. This is really an impressively nice brew. The oak is powerfully present in especially aroma and aftertaste, but the centre allows for great flavours of dried fruits to come to the fore. JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 25, 2008 No head, deep red-chestnut colour. Whisky jumping out of the glass, sugared orange rind, hoppy. VERY special taste, like a mild yellow curry sauce, creamy, fruity, biiterish and incited with a little splash of whisky 100% in balance. Very oily, slick, voluptuous MF. Superbly original, wow Many thanks to the people of Danske Ølentusiaster that had the good sense to carry this one along oh6gdx (6332), Vaasa, Finland Sep 25, 2008 Bottled. Ambery brown colour with no head. Aroma is caramel, wood and some mild oaky notes as well as vanilla and some slight alcohol. Flavour is caramel, oak, sweet malts, some fruits, fudge and vanilla. All in a nice balance. Alcohol gives a nice warming touch. rickgordon (3073), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 18, 2008 Bottled.
Redish-copper colour with very low head. Extremely fruity and yeasty with lots of hops in aroma. Flavour is spicey phenolic with chocolate and menthol, with good backup from whiskey, and lasts very long. It seems very delicate and does not go overboard. Medium bodied. faroeviking (4387), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Nov 15, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, oak, caramel and dark fruits. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour has a good toasted maltiness with yeast, dark fruits, plenty of oak, caramel and hops. Long lasting toasty oak finish.
