Søkildegaard Imperial Lakrids Stout

Bottle @ Maria tasting. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malt, hop, licorice. Flavour is malt, hop, licorice, coffee, caramel, fruit. Pleasent nice beer.

Bottle, from trade with papsoe. It pours a hazy, orange-red body with a beige head. Not much stout-like. Sweet, malty and fruity aroma with a very faint note of rubber, and some coffee in the background. Sweet, fruity and caramel-like flavor, touch of licorice. Balancing fruityness and maltyness good, but it’s not the kind of imperial stout I’m used to. Fullbodied, effervescent and sweetish in the mouth. Touch of spicyness in the finish. It’s yet another nice brew from Søkildegaard, but it’s really pushing the limits of an imperial stout. (080412)

Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, coffee, licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120408)

Pours deep mahogany with a medium, frothy beige head. Aroma has fennel, anise, dark roasted caramel and liqourice. Rather light mouthfeel, but okay. Flavour is initially sweet, lots of dark roasted malts, some nice chocolate and dried fruit notes. Finishes heavily spiced with fennel and liqourice. Rather nice, though the finish burns a little.

Chestnut colour with a beige head. Malty, caramel and dark fruity sweet aroma with an anise spicy note. malty, caramel sweet flavor with notes of dried dark fruit. Light dry finish with liqourice notes.
