S Lands Souvenirs du Terroir (Blond Speciaalbier - Tripel)

Hazy golden coloured body with a white head and a bunch of bubbles rising up from the bottom. Aroma of strong malt, wheat, alcohol and a good light freshness. Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey flavour of nutmeg and coriander seed shows first with some citrus and the wheatie characteristics behind. Aftertaste shows some good flavours with a sweet complexity at the end. Overall, good if you can find it - I enjoyed this one! I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased at a small corner shop in Bruxelles, Belgium on 13-March-2008.

Bottle. Unclear light yellow amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, sweet, brown sugar, yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (021007)

A decent tripel, nothing specialbut does have some characteristic Malheur flavors.

(Bottled, BBE 06 11 04) Murky, dark golden with large yeast particles and a thick, largeish head. Smells like wet cardboard and honeyish sugar – spoiled already, it seems (wonder if the BBE year is 04 or 06…). Sourish, cardboardy, acidic, moldy flavor – definitely spoiled. Medium-bodied, slightly foamy and sticky palate. This was the only bottle available at the store – no wonder. A shame, as the brewery is one of my favorites.

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, pilsener golden with a handsome and retentive, white head. Aroma of yeast and alcohol. Full-bodied, sweetish malty body with some lightly perfumy notes. Some diacetyl and a distinct, warming alcohol. Quite a nice Tripel. 130906

A pale golden colour with a orange shine. The aroma is hoppy. The taste a bit spicy and hoppy but very watery. (Bottle 33cl)

Bottle. Pours a beautiful golden/orange with a firm white lasting head. The aroma is dominated by flowery hop notes, hay and freshly baked wheat bread. The bread element leads the way flavourwise as well along with estery notes from the yeast. On the palate the beer is very much alive with a fitting high level of carbonation, a slightly sweet midpalate and a bitter snap to finish off the experience. A very nice effort.
