| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | May 21, 2008 Not sure why an america brewer would name a beer after the war of 1812 considering our capital was burned to the ground by the british and we bassically lost all but 1 major battle that was fought days after a peace treaty was signed! but i digress! haha. so now about the actual beer, there’s really not a lot to say. Cereal grains on the nose, a slight nuttiness. pours a light amber with no head. The flavor is bready with some stale cereal flavors, some hops are slightly noticable. There’s is nothing going on here, the name struck up more emotions than the beer itself. Haslinger (666), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | May 9, 2008 bottle, nose is weak malt, almost musty smelling. The taste is old bad malt, it tastes like vomit honestly, not good at all. The aftertaste is terrible. I hope I got a bad bottle or otherwise I would rather just drink Scotch all night than beer that tastes like this. Would not ever buy again unless it was to determine if I had a bad bottle fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2008 On tap. Not all that much to the aroma, some sweet/tart fruitiness, including strawberry. Flavor opens up more, definitely picks up on the strawberry notes, remains sweet, but has that tartness too, and I didn’t get anything syrupy or cloying out of it, remained a pleasant drink throughout. Pretty solid stuff. LilBeerDoctor (1542), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2008 On tap at the Colgate Inn. Pours a deep red/amber with a small white head. Aroma of a nice framboise lambic. Flavor of light fruits, rhubarb, and a nice malt base. A decent beer. After trying this, I was shocked to see the low rating it gets...I thought it was quite good. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Not sure why this isn’t currently under Sackets Harbor Brewery along with their other beers. (It’s merely contract brewed at Olde Saratoga.)
Pours golden; didn’t get much of a head. It comes across like a low hop pale ale. The malts aren’t rich enough to offset the lack of hops. Slightly bready and only slightly bitter. The body is nice and crisp, if a tad thin. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Decent brew. Very sticky and sweet, pours amber in color with a balanced taste. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Pours a foggy amber with a thin crème head. Nose doesn’t have much to it really. Sweet and malty. Flavor is bodied, but not a whole lot of character. Well rounded enough, but just no real kicker. Smooth feel with a bit of an almost syrup like edge to it. Nice to drink. A bit too sticky on the feel and lacking in noticeable character, but nice enough to try. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2008 June 2006 - Beer poured light amber color, little head or lacing. Aroma was biscuity/bready…very faint. The flavor was some caramel, but mostly bready biscuity flavor. Not all that rich. This is kind of a NB Fat Tire dumbed down (similar flavor profile). It was just ok.
