Draft 2006 vintage on tap at SBC brewpub. Copper color with lacy white head. Brown sugar/molases in the nose. Buttery feel on the palate, mild hop bitternesss which I like in a barleywine. A nice winter warmer but drinkable enough for a Sunday afternoon (like today).

Draft. 2007 vintage. Brown beer with a dark cream colored head. Rich malt aroma. Rich malt flavor with a light vegetal characteristic and light piney hops. Medium-plus bodied. Caramel and rich malt lingers with light pininess.

On tap at Toronado Barleywine Festival 2003: Nice dark crystal malt sweetness. Firm bitterness but not overwhelming. Good balance.

Draft at the Oasis in Citrus Heights (Sacramento). 100 IBU. Rich malty aroma with resiny hop. Very dark mahogany color with fizzy carbonation. Very roasted caramel with pine/resin hop. Definitely some heat, but it does not interfere. Finish is the sweet goes away and leaves all that wonderful bitter. It is a tad harsh.

02.20.05 Tap at Toronado BWF Darker color with small head. Chill and balanced BW in an everyman style. Strong PNW influence is obvious. A bit sticky and thick, but tasty. Tends toward cloying.
