The glass is turbulent with lots and lots of very small bubbles that keep the head frosty. No nose to speak of but the tste is very good. Slightly sweet like toffee and slightly bitter with American hops. This is a great session beer. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Dark amber color with a decent fine white head. Mild citrus hop aroma. Medium body with spritely carbonation. Flavor starts with a burst of grapefruit. Followed by low key caramel. Finishes smooth with just enough grapefruit to make that the stronger note. Tastes like an IPA - not very ESB. Who cares. Good ale. marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2009 On tap at the brewery. This amber beer poured with a nice beige head and a caramel aroma. There is a smooth creamy roasted malt flavor with restrained hop bitterness at the finish. The flavor is a bit thin as in most traditional bitters.
