| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 A dark amber almost brown appearance. Some caramel and nutmeg in the aroma department. The flavor is quite sweet for an amber with some toffee, caramel, and nutmeg. The aftertaste was sweet/sour. This was more like a brown ale to me. Overall it was ok. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Thin off-white head with moderate retention. Reddish amber body is translucent. the nose is mostly of caramel, with lesser additions of toffee and light smokey grains. Simple but nice. Raw honey notes and sugars also remain in the finished product. The flavor is hopped on a medium level, with corresponding astringency and medium sweetness. The finish is lightly tart and peppery, hoppiness lingering very briefly. Subpar but interesting enough to make it worthwhile. CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA
