SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 29, 2009 growler - thanks riversideak!! clear, bight orange with fluffy white head; thin texture is kind of flat; piney sweet, sticky and super dry; kind of dank and syrupy; hop nose faded, but plenty of bitter remains in the flavor riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Sep 12, 2009 Floral and citrus hops in the nose. Somewhat earthy. Light sweet malt. pours amber with a thin head and decent lace. Pine and citrus, some sweet caramel and bready malts. Big bitterness in the finish. Lots of pine and dank resins. Leafy. Some sweetness comes in as it warms. I liked this one. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 17, 2009 On tap. Clear amber golden with an off-white head. Fat, juicy but also raw hoppy aroma. Medium body, a little fruit and caramel but otherwise completely dominated by an extreme and brutal bitterness. 130709 yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 26, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 13, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is surprisingly light - of grass and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of grapefruit, malt, hops, as well as a touch of butter(?), leading to a bitter finish. Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Jun 18, 2009 Tap into growler into glass at home. Pours a dark orange, kind of ruby, pretty
clear. Large, foamy, off-white head. Aroma is nice, not as profound as the typical DIPA, put is very pleasant with grapefruit hops, unsmoked high-grade cannabis, pine, and sweet floral malts. Wow, flavor is alive on this one! Gooey sweet malt, smoky too, strangely. A little flora again, hoppiness throughout, though not a hop bomb. Pretty complex for a SacBrew. Alcohol presence increases until the end, when it becomes just plain hot. Sticky, oily mouthfeel. Thick and creamy I might add. I must say, I wasn’t expecting this one to be this enjoyable, maybe because I’ve been burned by SBC beers in the past. But this one really stands out. Overall, very good to excellent.
