Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 13, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. A slightly hazy golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of grapefruit and hops on a light caramel back ground. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops lending it notes of grass, grapefruit, and lime on a lightly caramel malty back ground. The finish is quite bitter. pbrick (13), Roseville, California, USA Jun 9, 2009 On tap at SBC
Deep golden, clear with a rocky head.
Aromas are powerful with grassy and citrusy hops, a bit of pine and then more still working to create a resinous, sticky brew.
Flavors follow suit. Up front there’s a brief bready and slighly caramelized malt sweetness that gives way to a whole lot of hops. Bitterness is gripping, but not out of balance for the style.
Dry, clean finish. Mild fruity esters, low alcohol heat. Lovely beer - a vast improved beer over the years. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA Sep 11, 2008 On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours slight, hazy orange/amber with a creamy white head, nice lace, good retention. Smells light citrusy hoppy with a caramelly, metallic smell as well. Tastes bitter hoppy, slightly nutty, slight grassy with a sweet metallic malt taste as well. Medium body, vibrant carbonation. Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Jul 26, 2008 A pretty typical craft IPA, the likes of which have been repeated over and over lately. That said, there’s really nothing to complain about. In other words, it’s good. Typical hoppy-citrusy thing going on. A lockstep interpretation of a worn out theme that the masses apparently can’t get enough of.
