The flavor is sweet with strong notes of hops lending it notes of grass, grapefruit, and lime on a lightly caramel malty back ground. The finish is quite bitter. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2006 Aroma of hoppy citrus. Like grapefruit. Amber gold color with a decent white head. Fairly light IPA. Light citrus and floral hops for start. Thin mouthfeel. Seems well balanced (for me) with underlying malt all the way to the hoppy finish. May be a bit of pine here, but it’s primarily citrus hop to the end. Basically refreshing. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2008 Bottled. The body was dark gold and bronze with an off white head. The aroma was earthy grapefruit with some almonds. This was also a little bit woody. The taste was grapefruit and flowers with some nice bitterness. There was also a toasted walnut flavor. This was a good IPA, just a little boring. beerguy101 (3972), Newark, California, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Nov 3, 2002 Updated: Apr 10, 2008Re-rated from the bottle, 4/10/2008 Poured with an enormous head over a cloudy earthen orange beer. The aroma is of citrus flowers. This has a detergent-like character in which the stark citrus acidity dominates without any other supporting characters. My original rookie rating numbers stand. Original rating at their brewpub: <<Soapy citrus aroma. Strong grapefruit tendencies with peaked bitterness. So-so.>>
