Bottle from Saarlander via Mystery Swap 2.0. Wow, this is the second beer today that I’ve rated that has a 69 average. Nice. The pour is hazy brownish ruby, like clay mud, as such, with aroma of caramel malt, toffee, big hops, and cabernet/port notes. Tastes caramel malty, with rauchy, cherry, cabernet, and finishing hop notes. Pretty hefty palate on this, and complex for this style. Thank you, sir, may I have another?

Bottle from Trader Joes; Caramelly and toffee nose; clear brown with a small tan head; Flavor of caramel, roastiness, and hops, which last into the finish.

Nice brown color, pours with a light khaki head. Nutty, roasty flavors dominate with a bit of hop bitterness. Minimal to no ale yeast fruitiness - in fact I was surprised this is an ale. Reminds me more of a dunkel or other dark lager than an ale. Nice, easy drinker.

Bottle... Beautiful, clear, morphed mahogany/copper/ruby/burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Nutty, earthy aroma with notes of wood, black tea and straw. Thin, bland flavor. Slightly sweet up front and then, a couple seconds later, moderate bitterness provides decent balance. Almost medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. Crisp, mildly sweet, nutty finish. Thanks to IrishBoy for shipping this beer to me!

12 oz. bottle via trade with IrishBoy - Pours a clear deep amber color with an average size off white head. Light spotty lacing. Has a light grassy hop and caramel malt aroma. Has a semi-sweet caramel malt flavor with a slight roasted/smoked flavor in the background. Light to medium body. A decent beer. Thanks Richard.

Ruby Color with no head. Aroma is very malt with caramel, and butterscotch along with a light grassy hop background. Taste has a heavy dose of caramel along with the hop background that still present and also the grassiness, has a bit of smoke to it also.

12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s. Pours a clear reddish mahogany color, with a moderate beige head. Fruity, grassy and mildly roasty aroma, fresh flowers and notes of pvc. Flavor of unsweetened prune and cherry juice, grass, herbs and ash. Medium body and gentle carbonation.
