Gypsy19 (602), California, USA Aug 9, 2008 A somewhat astringent pale ale, fairly hoppy, with a honey finish. I expected the metallic taste to die down after the initial few sips, but it lingers throughout, regrettably. Decent brew, but I won’t be having again, unless for free, of course. Serve this one as cold as possible for the best results, I’ve found. GG (1612), NorCal, California, USA May 29, 2008 I can’t believe that a beer like this would be sold to consumers. There’s just so much wrong with this, I don’t know where to start. I won’t even waste my time with a breakdown of this beer other than to say that the DMS in both the aroma and flavor was as much as I have ever tasted in my life. The flavor of carrots in my beer was just too much and this and the rest of the bottles I had bought went in the trash. I’m fairly forgiving when it comes to bad beer, but this was just so shockingly, horribly bad that it deserves to be slammed. Unless I get some Sac Brew beer from a friend, or a gathering, or a tasting I will never waste my money on this shit again. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 20, 2008 Updated: Jan 21, 2008~Pours a small off white head. Brownish amber colour.
~ Malty with earthy hop aroma.
~Taste woodsy sweet. Hops medium. Bittersweet after taste.
~Palate is medium creamy. Bitter finish lingers a bit.
~I like this beer. Probably end up purchasing it again. Allthatisevil (48), alabaster, Alabama, USA Oct 10, 2007 Bottle. Pored an amberish colour. With an earthy smell. An adv. taste going down, with a nice bitter after taste. All in all I would say it is an adv. beer. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Sep 17, 2007 On tap at the brewery. This copper ale poured with a generous white head. The flavor is dominated by caramel malt, but there is a slight hoppy bitterness at the finish. hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Mar 26, 2007 Bottle from BevMore in Sacramento. Poured copper to amber with a very foamy white head that reminded me of soapsuds. Left good lacing. Nose of sweet malts with some hops and flowers. Mouthfeel average with nice flavors of malts and hops. Nice bitter finish. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Dec 24, 2006 Aroma of apple! and malt. Amber color with extremely frothy white head. Starts with lightly sweet malt. There’s an earthy, grassy, herbal bit. Finally a little hop, but not enough to balance the malt. Substantial mouthfeel, a bit of wet paper somewhere, and I think this bottle may have gotten away from them. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 2, 2006 Clear copper/amber body. Thin creamy off-white head. Aroma has stale caramel / chocolate with sugary tones to it. Some green alfalfa / vegetal hops, which carries into the taste. Good body, but just an okay drink.
